C.L.A.F.F. is a project and a team work between a lot of French musicians (more or less famous?). The deal behind this album was to play cool Hard Rock for fun and the guy have managed to do it. "Double Fuck" is really basic and classic but for sure this is a good album of old school Hard Rock, so if you're a fan of AC/DC or Rose Tattoo maybe that you'll like it!

"Double Fuck" is a good old album of bluesy Hard Rock. All the songs are catchy with some really nice guitars soli. It's really old school and in my opinion that's good thing, though of course if you're already a fan of AC/DC, Thin Lizzy or Rose Tattoo, this album will not be really surprising. I mean that yes, the songs of "Double Fuck" are good Hard Rock songs with all what we need in this recipe (bluesy riffs, guitars soli, hoarse vocals etc?) but it's all but new and evidently I'm afraid that it will only be something for the old generation of metalheads?

"Double Fuck" is well recorded even if sometime the sound is a bit weak. Also, of course, all the songs are really well played and we even have five covers of classic bands like AC/DC or Motörhead at the end of the CD. Actually "Double Fuck" is a nice album of Hard Rock but of course the release suffers of its real lack of originality and maybe some lack of energy too. This is bluesy and rock but this is not new and that's a bit sad that the band didn't manage to add some anger in some of their songs (as an example, the cover of Motörhead sounds like the scream of a lamb in comparison to the original one?). Of course I don't think that the members of C.L.A.F.F. have any pretension with this release and in that case I think that it should be ok for the people who will buy the CD.

C.L.A.F.F. is an interesting meeting of different French musicians but their music is a bit too shy to be outstanding. I regret that they didn't take any risks with this album because it was possible to add a bit of craziness to these songs really? Anyway, if you're still into old school music you can go for this album, C.L.A.F.F. is a solid combo and their first album "Double Fuck" is really pleasant but just not original?
