My Top Post-90's Black Metal Albums
My Top Post-90's Black Metal Albums
Listen to these today. I limited later Enslaved releases, as they become less and less "black metal" as time goes on. That is not to say you should not check them out.

Enslaved
- Mardraum - Beyond The Within
2000 I would say this is actually their best album in a pure BM style.

4.
Gorgoroth
- Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam
2006 Best album since Under the Sign of Hell, no other album has come close since. So much evil.

8.
Death Karma
- The History Of Death & Burial Rituals Part I
2015 Equally brilliant as the former with a slightly different approach.

Immortal
- All Shall Fall
2009 Nobody else brings it as consistently as Immortal. While everyone else evolves, they are perfectly at home with the icy riffage we know and love.

12.
Nargaroth
- Jahreszeiten
2009 Total surprise. I could care less about anything else the Narg puts out, but this was special. Am I the only one who loves "Frühling?"

Taake
- Noregs Vaapen
2011 Not quite as good as Nattestid, but this is a close second for me. Plenty for the guitar-player to love. Wonderful melodies.

17.
Darkthrone
- Hate Them
2003 A little more punk edge, but retains the black metal harshness and grit.

|
20.
Cultes Des Ghoules
- Henbane
2013 Likely the most bizarre-sounding album ont he list. Don't let the song playtimes turn you off. This is a journey into insanity.

Drautran
- Throne Of The Depths
2007 Very unusual. The vocals are like old-school Dillinger Escape Plan, and the concept is underwater mythology.
