Downfall Of Gaia have always been impossible to place under a single genre. Sludge? Crust? Post? Black? All of them in various combinations, usually with the "atmospheric" tag in the front. But Silhouettes Of Disgust is the one that tips the scale just slightly more towards atmospheric black metal.

This record is crazy dense. It captures intensity and tension without feeling overdramatic. Worth the wait.

I like the melancholic sound but drumming really gets on my nerves too often. I'm not a fan of the vocals either.

Good crushing comped music, interesting specially that I have not listened this band so much in the past.

It has a great and unique style, sound, and production, and a captivating atmosphere, but for me the drumming is way too high in the mix. I don't mind the devastating shrieks but I think softer vocals in certain areas might not have gone a miss imo.

This was my thoughts as well, I like the instrumental parts fine but vocals need some variety. The last album had more accentuated lows that made the highs feel higher.

This felt like a good post metal album, nothing more nothing less. Some of the riffs sounded a bit weird.
