English heathens Forefather are back with album number six and have never sounded better. Entitled "Steadfast", this is the band's highest achievement yet combining the spirit of the music they have always had with accessible songs and a whole heap of catchiness that has never been so present as it is here. A lot of Amon Amarth's in there. I didn't hear any Black, this is a typical Melodeth (without much keyboards) or Death Folk Metal album. Good musicianship...but I didn't like it, it's just lacking of "kicks".

In some way I think (don't get me wrong, still good album) they wanted to simply copy previously but forgot to write catchy and outstanding song like ''The Shield wall''

Close call between an 8 or a 9 (I've just had coffee and I'm feeling generous so a 9 it is!) Regarding the similarities with Amon Amarth: Amon Amarth use mostly tremolo-picked leads, downpicked pedal tone riffs and powerchords. Forefather use more arpeggio leads and barre chords. Really, the only similarity is in some lead voicing and the viking themes.
