"The Darkness" is the first album of Dawn Of Solace one of the side projects of Tuomas Saukkonen (Before The Dawn). Between Doom Metal and Gothic, this album is a lovely piece of melancholic music and I really think that all the Metalheads who like to listen to bands like Swallow The Sun should have a look on it because they shouldn't be disappointed. It has been a while since I returned to this album. It has a certain laid back quality that lends it this seamlessness that makes it feel like a single song despite being comprised of clearly distinct tracks. Highly recommended to anyone with an interest in melodic music.
