Conan are one of those bands, much like Primitive Man and Leviathan, whose name simply couldn't possibly go better with the type of music they play. We all know that Conan isn't a pussy. He's a hulking Behemoth of a warrior who knows that battle prowess is a true measure of a man. And much like their namesake, the Brits in Conan do not see any need to deal in excessive technicalities. They're colossal, they're brutish, and all they want is to rattle our bones, which they're doing once again on Revengeance.

Just got this in the mail at my college's radio station and it's a banger. Straight into metal rotation. Probably a solid 8, needs a few more listens.

Another Conan album, so pretty ludicrously heavy and solid. I know these guys are probably supposed to be about being slow and crushing, but I think I much prefer them when they crank it up a few gears, and get some momentum behind them and some really meaty rhythms occur. It gets much fun. Doesn't happen nearly enough on this one so once again you end up with a Conan album where the title track is the best by far. I still really like the monotone vocals, though I imagine a lot of people don't. Reminds me of Andreas Sydow's great style.

On the second song and these vocals are already driving me mental - amongst the most irritating vocals I think I've ever encountered

Edit: Turned off halfway through. Can't really see the appeal of a band like this in a world that contains Kongh - Sole Creation is just as heavy as this, but with better riffs, more interesting songs and actually enjoyable vocals
