Biography
The band was born December 2001 with the intent to play a melodic metal, focused on a strong use of the keyboard without giving up the aggressive part that is typical of the epic metal. The starting line-up (Fabio Valentini - vocals, Graziano Ferracioli - keyboards, Maikel Bononi - guitars, Stefano Marchetto - bass, Andrea Bertassello - drums) is composed by musicians that come from different music experiences, from pop to power thrash metal, which have surely enriched Nicta's style, that is very difficult to define.
May 2002 the band decided to record its debut-promo (Promo 2002) with the first three songs composed between January and April 2002. With the release of this first work the band started the live activity.
August 2002, in consequence of incomprehension and misunderstandings, the band welcomed Nuccio Cafà ad guitar player in the place of Maikel Bononi. With this changing the songs became more complex and were focused on a strong use of guitars with rapid and scratching rhythmic. The songs gained the dynamism, which was absent before. Typical power/epic atmosphere and vents at the border of thrash/black characterize new Nicta's songs.
Between April and June 2003 the band recorded the new promo CD "Dark Rays Rip the Light" which includes songs written by the new line-up and shows the complete estrangement from "old style" and the approach to darkest dens where shades are lengthening? After the recording session the band began to promote "Dark Rays..." and it obtained wide favours of audience during some summery live shows. Also between the reviewers of the webzines, the promo did not stop to attract attentions, and, in this way, therefore it was draw a lot of flattering musical reviews from the main Italian and foreign metal portals and from some magazines.
During 2004 the promotion of the new CD continued and the band was engaged in numerous live shows both in pubs during the winter and open-air concerts during the summer. The more significant experiences were: the live supporting EXTREMA and Valpolicella Metal Fest, where Nicta shared the same stage together with famous international artists such as U.D.O., Vader, etc.
At the same time of the live activity, the band composed new songs where is more evident the power-black fusion, sign of an important maturity regarding the pieces drawing up... June 2004 the band began the recording of "Let the Darkness Welcome You". This important chapter of their activity required a lot of month to be accomplished and the band had to fight with organizational problems that slackened the release.
Finally the new Mini-CD "Let the Darkness Welcome You", containing five new songs, was released in April 2005. The new sound is an unusual mixture of "Scandinavian" power metal and symphonic black metal?
Currently the band is engaged in the promotion of its last work and it is searching for a deal with a label to release its first full-length album
