I remember small fragments from WC 1994, EC 1996 , but from 1998 WC I rember all from football and rugby, hockey, basket.

It was just before my time too, but I do remember the 90s and it was a pretty brutal game then, and from clips it looked even worse before. The rules have changed though and players are certainly more protected now.
