Massacre Records has issued the following statement about German old school thrashers Necronomicon parting ways with guitarist Andy Gern: "Sadly Andy Gern who played alongside Freddy as second guitarist could no longer withstand the pressure of the new longplayer Invictus. That's why Necronomicon had to take the painful but inevitable step of parting ways with Andy."

Cancer Bats - New Single Online

"Bricks And Mortar", a brand new song from Canadian hardcore-punk outfit Cancer Bats is now available for streaming at the following location. Iced Earth - New DVD In The Works, Bassist Leaves The Band

US heavy metallers Iced Earth, currently in China for the first time with shows in Shanghai and Beijing this week, are adding on more shows to their massive World Dystopia Tour. The show in Bangalore, India, on June 16th is a first visit to India for the band and the show on August 19th in Limassol marks a much-clamored return to Cyprus, only 8 months after their last show there. The show is being filmed and recorded for an upcoming DVD/CD release.

Pantera - Unveil Artwork For Unreleased Song

As previously announced, US groove thrash metal legends Pantera will premiere the video for the unreleased song "Piss" from the Vulgar sessions today on the Revolver Golden Gods Awards ceremony. The band has now revealed the cover art for the single Piss, which will be available on iTunes on April 12th. The song will also be included on the 20th Anniversary CD/DVD Deluxe Edition of Vulgar Display Of Power, which hits stores on May 15th.

Twisted Sister - Former Drummer Ritchie Teeter Passes Away

Drummer Ritchie Teeter, who played in The Dictators and Twisted Sister, has died at the age of 61. Teeter joined the legendary punk band The Dictators in 1976 and appeared on their albums Manifest Destiny (1977) and Bloodbrothers (1978) before leaving the group in 1979. Teeter was also briefly a member of Twisted Sister for a few months in late 1980 and early 1981, but never appeared on a studio album with the band.

US melodic death/doom outfit Daylight Dies have unveiled the first details from their upcoming album entitled A Frail Becoming. The band posted the following on their website: "We're pleased to finally announce the fourth studio Daylight Dies album will be titled A Frail Becoming. The album is currently being mixed in Sweden by the fantastic Jens Bogren (who was also responsible for mixing Dismantling Devotion and Lost To The Living)."

Hypocrisy - Update On New Album

Swedish death metallers Hypocrisy are continuing to work on their new album and have now issued the following update about it: "We're now focusing on writing new songs for the next album. We've already some new material and it sounds killer! The plan is to record the new album in the autumn this year and release it in the first half of 2013. So far everything is working out as planned and we're really excited to bring out the new release. Between the writing process we're also doing some festival shows and we hope to see you all there!
