Opeth - Nominated For Swedish P3 Guld Award
The newest Opeth's release Heritage is bringing very good news for the Swedish metallers. Opeth have been nominated once again for a P3 Guld Award in the Rock/Metal category. For the first time, it is up to the public to cast their votes rather than the professional industry, which didn't happen in previous editions in the 8 year history of the awards. Opeth already won the award once in 2003 and since then have been nominated many times but never managed to win again.

Onslaught - Announce Mic Hourihan As New Drummer
Onslaught have announced Mic Hourihan as their new drummer. He will replace Steve Grice. The band announced it on their Facebook page: "British thrashers Onslaught have announced that drummer Michael "Mic" Hourihan (Desecration, Extreme Noise Terror) has officially joined the band on a full time basis. Mic has been touring with Onslaught since March 2011, and has already done over 50 shows with the band including South American, UK and European tours."

Mnemic - Start Recording New Album In February
Danish metallers Mnemic will enter the Antfarm Studios in Aabyhøj, Denmark, in February 2012 with producer Tue Madsen to begin recording their new album for a June 2012 release via Nuclear Blast Records.
The band posted this statement on their official website: "With the release of last year's Sons Of The System, Danish modern metallers Mnemic have undergone quite a few changes. Keeping quiet, doing only select shows in 2010, the band never toured properly, and never discovered the demand for their style and music. Today, the band is praised and being recognized as part of the djent music scene, a genre created by the polyrhythmic pioneers of metal, Meshuggah."

Anthrax - Announce Intimate London Show
After the release of the album Worship Music, Anthrax are back on the road in 2012 with several dates announced. Anthrax announced on their official website a new date before the HammerFest IV, now in London. Anthrax will play an intimate show at the O2 Islington Academy on Thursday, March 15th, 2012.
Anthrax will also play at the HammerFest IV, where they will be joined by other metal bands: Dream Evil, Amon Amarth, Exodus, Chimaira, Paradise Lost, Hell, Evile and many more from March 15-17 at Pontin's, Prestatyn.

Lethian Dreams - Announce New Album, New Song Online
French atmospheric doom metallers Lethian Dreams have finished recording their second album, the follow-up to Bleak Silver Streams. The new album will be entitled Season Of Raven Words and will be released in 2012. There is also a new song online, "Dawn", and you can listen to it on the video below.
