Lyzanxia - Four New Versions Of "Lullaby" Demo Tracks Online

French metallers Lyzanxia have issued the following update :

To celebrate Lyzanxia's 10-year anniversary, we decided to treat ourselves, our fans and our buddies to something really fun and special...brand new versions our 4 favorite songs from our very first demo "Lullaby"!

The 4 songs that we picked for a special 2008 total makeover are Trepan, My Prisoner, Hurricane, and Slave Cross. We just finished re-recording them and it feels so good to be able to offer them to you all with the sound that they deserve! And of course we had a blast and many fits of laughter re-arranging and re-listening to the original versions! The cringe factor was off the charts and it was so much fun to go back to those very early days and realize how much we have evolved in the past ten years!

So here's to you guys, thanks for all the good times and get ready for the next ten blasting years! Enjoy those 4 much more ballsy and heavy songs - vintage 2008 - on our myspace page .

Nailed - Working On New Material

UK brutal death metal band Nailed has posted the following update right before Christmas:

"Well we've just finished up the tour for "Hatred, Failure..." and we're back in the rehearsal space just before Christmas. We're holed up finishing song number 7 right now and are aiming to write another two before booking studio time. So far the material is crushingly heavy, a little faster, but also diverging into more twisted realms in terms of polyrhythms. It's definitely the best stuff we've written, more focused and cohesive as we've churned it out with one complete lineup in the space of a few months, unlike all the other material which was written through turbulent times and over long periods. We'll almost definitely do a studio recording blog thing with video updates once we're in there so keep your eyes open for that.

Most likely to be our last gig before heading off for pre-production is the Causing Chaos For Cancer show in February 2009, it's for a good cause and there's some cracing goodies to be had so make sure you're there. Have a brutal Christmas you worthless dogs!

Pain Confessor - New Guitarist Announced

Finnish metallers Pain Confessor have announced new guitarist, Tommi Kurki, on their official site:

''Mr. Tommi Kurki has been around since the first gigs of Pain Confessor. In fact, he has been our mainstay Sound Engineer for pretty much all these years. This made the transition from behind the mixer to the frontlines an easy one, and very natural.

He Wasn't Born Yesterday? as a guitarist either. Tommi "Tommi Kurki" Kurki, or The Bullfinch as we like to call him, played guitar in the old Finnish progressive metal band Sancnity along with Pain Confessor producer Janne Saksa. Sancnity's swansong was their excellent early 90's album "Dew".

A multitude of musical paths were ventured after that, a few to mention were as a guitarist in Wooden Bone (Sancnity reincarnate as a more pop/rock-esque band) and as the vocalist for the Finnish punk band Rehtorit.

We are proud to have such a rock-hard extra fist to smash into the collective behind of humanity. This will only make things worse for those against us and add even more spice for those who like what we dish out!

Welcome to Pain Confessor, Tommi! We have been waiting for you.''

Regards,
Rest of Pain Confessor

Suicidal Angels - Back To The Studio

Suicidal Angels have issued the following statement on their MySpace blog:

"Hello to everyone!

As it is now confirmed, we can announce that everything's set for the recording of the second Suicidal Angels album! Recordings will be held at "Prophecy and Music Factory Studios" in Germany, under the direction of producer R.D. Liapakis, who, as many might know, is an accomplished fellow Greek musician and recording engineer, lead singer of the heavy metal group Mystic Prophecy.

The yet untitled record will contain 9 tracks of pure thrash metal, which we can't wait to play live by the way! It will be recorded in March and released (hopefully) later in 2009. One of the songs, "Jesus Lies", has already been performed live in various occasions and can also be heard through our upcoming DVD, "Live Domination", the production of which has been unfortunately hampered by some artwork issues, that will very soon be resolved. This song will give you an idea of the straight-in-your-face approach we have adopted while writing new material, that we hope you like.

So everything's rolling and March draws near! Moreover, the plans for a 2009 European tour are in motion, many shows have already been confirmed and we can't wait to see you all again and have a hell of a time. More on our upcoming tour will be posted soon, as the final details will be worked out early in 2009.

Take care you all, and have a nice thrashing holiday!

Suicidal Angels"

Kekal - Almost Entire New Album Available For Download

"Audible Minority", the new 7th full-length album from Kekal will be released tomorrow (on December 25) via NePlusUltra Music. According to a press release, the title "Audible Minority" is based on the fact that the music on the album has mapped itself into the extreme minority status: something beyond recognition of the musical norms. "Audible Minority" is a stateless, nameless, and label-less manifesto made from all the bitterness and pain. Almost 2 years in the making, "Audible Minority" was constructed during various personal events of the band members' lives.

Under the motto: if you like what you hear, you are more than welcome to buy the CD or make a donation, this album also has a free/by-donation download available on the first 8 songs out of 11 total, which can be obtained directly on Last.fm. (Note: for all who did the Pre-Orders will receive a link to download entire 11 Tracks right away!)

The first pressing of the CD will be a special Digipak release with hand numbered and limited to 777 units. This CD version contains all 11 tracks total, including A-Ha cover "Locust", and will be ready very soon!

All possible album details are available at this location.

Pain Of Salvation - 2DVD/2CD Box Set Details Revealed

According to a Blabbermouth translation, Swedish progressive rock/metal band Pain Of Salvation will release a 2DVD/2CD box set titled "Ending Themes (On The Two Deaths Of Pain Of Salvation)" cover artwork] on February 27, 2009 via InsideOut Music. The set will include the following:

DVD1: Season One

"Ending Themes" is the groundbreaking TV series that shocked a whole world (still uncertain which world) when it was first broadcasted. Thought to have been lost forever during the great war (wee bit uncertain as to which one), copies of the original tapes were found hidden under the floor boards of the Berlin Museum of Rather Contemporary Good Films after the wall came down (most likely the Iron Curtain, or possibly a Chinese one). Now, digitally restored into a massive Director's Cut never before seen on TV or anywhere else, this monumental work of cinematic art is finally available on DVD! Back to shock the world once again, this first season tells us the haunting story of five nearly young boys (wonderfully portrayed by five unknown Swedish actors), preparing themselves for an amazing journey into the unknown on which they will meet deceit, happiness, lies, Belgium, truths, love, and ultimately themselves, in a desperate pursuit of a mutual dream called Music. And as this fragile dream clashes with harsh reality, we watch them grow into five nearly young men. But what happens to a dream, when the dreamers change? Or part?? Alas, the depths of curiosity, as we stumble aching into this classic bildungsroman that is The First Death Of Pain Of Salvation.

Sixworlds / Eightdays (90-minute documentary by Per Hillblom):

* Episode 1 / The Pilot: Foreword
* Episode 2 / One: Final Rehearsal
* Episode 3 / Two: Leaving Entropia
* Episode 4 / Three: Should We Say "Hi" First?
* Episode 5 / Four: Put A Lock On Your Mouth
* Episode 6 / Five: Suspicious Minds
* Episode 7 / Six: Stay Humble
* Episode 8 / Seven: Busy With Metal
* Episode 9 / Eight: Onehundredandsixteendecibel
* Episode 10 / Epilogue: The First Death Of

Extras:

* Commentary Track (time-warp commentary by Per and Daniel)
* Somewhere in Europe (tour slideshow with commentaries)
* The Non-Making of (bloopers)
* Dea Pecuniae 3D (three versions of Dea Pecunia video/audio)
* Sticky Fingers (Lars Ardarve gig slideshow)
* Easter Egg / Hidden Menu
* Sneak Preview

DVD2: Season Two

In this second season of "Ending Themes", we follow Daniel (wonderfully brought to life by Daniel Gildenlöw, who also played other Daniels in "Meet the Flower Kings", "Transatlantic" and "BE"), who meets with his jolly friends to perform music in Amsterdam (filmed on actual location in Amsterdam), but they all have emotional scars to deal with, after the somewhat sore break-up with former bass player and family member, and jolly friend, Kristoffer (here played by Simon Andersson, nominated somewhere for "Best Newcomer"), as hinted at in season one. Meanwhile, their jolly friend Léo Margarit (beautifully portrayed by Johan Langell, who won a Granny for "Best Male Actor With Sticks" for his part in "BE") is fighting his own demons, haunted by enticing visions of a mythical nirvana called Svenssonliv. This really gets to his jolly friend Johan (Hallgren, who is actually played by himself!). And how many Johans can there be in a band, or a series? And what might happen if he knew that his jolly friend Fredrik (Hermansson, who also played one of the unknown Swedish actors in season one) is secretly christened Johan too? The plot is thickening in this second season of the groundbreaking series "Ending Themes", as we slowly approach The Second Death Of Pain Of Salvation.

Apostasy - Busy Recording New Album

Swedish black metallers Apostasy are recording their third full-length album, after almost three years:

"Guitarist Mattias Edin and drummer David Ekevärn have this weekend recorded all the drums for the upcoming album in the Ballerina Studios Umeå. We produce and record everything by our selves this time, so it's gonna be great. The next step will be to start recording the guitars and if everything works out smoothly the entire album will be finished in the end of January. Stay tuned for some sick studio videos and other music stuff. We guarantee all of you that this is the most brutal and technical shit we have ever made and it is nothing like anything we done before!"

Two pre-production versions of some upcoming tracks, called "Gods Assassin" and "The Parasite Swarm" are available for streaming at the band's MySpace.

Apostasy made national headlines in Sweden in 2006 when the group's guitarist Henrik Johansson was stabbed to death by his girlfriend. Read the full story on Blabbermouth here.
