Dark Tranquillity - New Bassist Announced

The band has announced the following on their website:

"The response to our bassist search has been overwhelming, and we want to send our sincere thanks to everyone that got in touch. Applications poured in from pretty much every continent, and some of the interested musicians are members in bands that we have been huge fans of for many years, which was extremely flattering.

However, we can now announce that the search is over, and that we've recruited Daniel Antonsson (Dimension Zero, ex-Soilwork) to handle the bass duties for the upcoming tour. We welcome Daniel to the fold and look forward to hitting the road with him."

Devildriver - New Album On The Way

US metallers Devildriver have issued the following update:

"As you all know, DevilDriver has been laying low over the past couple of months... so we wanted to give you a head's up on what has been going on over the summer of 2008 up until now.

Upon returning from Europe in July, the band has been hard at work writing the fourth DevilDriver record... as of yet untitled. I have been back and forth between NY and Santa Barbara and L.A. writing the record, tracking demos at Mike's house and spending time with my loved ones. We currently have around 14 songs in the pot that we are working with and will have 2 or 3 more finished before we embark on our final run of "The Last Kind Words" touring cycle.

Yes... it will sound like DevilDriver... a bigger, stronger DevilDriver, and listeners will receive a record which will capture DD doing what we do best. Record producer and recording location will be decided in these next upcoming weeks and we will keep you posted when a decision has been made. So please join us on our upcoming US headliner with Snot, Straight Line Stitch and Rosengaurd starting October 15th. You can buy me a beer."

Powerwolf - New Album In The Making

Powerwolf have issued the following upadate:

"After having crowned the touring for "Lupus Dei" with the celebration at Wacken Open Air, we have now started pre-producing the follow up album to "Lupus Dei". We´re currently sweating blood and incense creating new anthems, and can hardly hide our enthusiasm about the stuff we have written yet. Expect a goddamn mighty 3rd strike, that will be heaven in hell for all you wolfmaniacs!

We will be busy with further songwriting and the pre-production during the next two months, and by mid of November the wolves will invade the studio. As we decided not to change a winning team, we will once again team up with the incredible Mr. Fredrik Nordström as the man behind the mixing desk.

We'll keep you posted about the progress on the metal mass we are creating here from time to time - so keep an eye on the wicked!"

Into Eternity - Guitarist To Sit Out N. American Tour

Official Century Media press release:

"Canadian extreme progressive metal quintet Into Eternity -- whose new album, "The Incurable Tragedy," debuted at 17 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart last week -- return to the road this weekend, when they kick off a string of dates alongside Iced Earth. However, the band's lead guitarist, Tim Roth, is unable to participate in the tour.

The group has issued the following statement to explain matters further: "All of us in the band, and especially Tim, have been looking forward to this tour with Iced Earth for months. Over the years, Iced Earth has been a huge influence on Into Eternity, as anyone who owns "Dead or Dreaming" Iced Earth t-shirt] knows.

Unfortunately, the events of the past two years have recently taken their toll on Tim. Emotionally, he's a rock, but there are some important legal, financial and family-related matters at home that he needs to take care of right now. However, he's given us his blessing to do the tour without him so we can honor our commitments to our fans (who won't get a refund if the support act cancels), and continue to promote an album that we all very much believe in.

Luckily, Sean Maier from our labelmates Blessed By A Broken Heart has agreed to fill in on super-short notice. From what we've seen and heard on his MySpace, Sean's an amazing shredder, and we can't thank him enough for stepping in. Meanwhile, Stu is going to do his best to handle all of Tim's vocal parts, as well as his own. The vocal harmonies won't be as rich, but Stu vows to do the best he can.

Please know and understand that Into Eternity's lineup is not changing, and that Tim will rejoin the group on tour as soon as humanly possible. Again, it's not that Tim doesn't want to do this tour; it's just that he can't right now. Over the last three years, Tim has led Into Eternity through 300+ shows with death metal bands, power metal bands, prog-metal bands, metalcore bands and everything in between. We'll miss him out there, but the show must go on.

Thanks again to all the fans around the world who picked up "The Incurable Tragedy." We weren't sure how people would respond to such an emotional roller coaster, but we couldn't be more grateful for our fans' continued support. We can't wait to see you all on tour."

Hellsaw - Sign To Napalm Records

Napalm Records press release:

"Austrian black metal mongrels Hellsaw are the latest addition to Napalm Records' evergrowing roster. The band, fronted by the charismatic Aries (ex-Sanguis), offers an unholy blend of dark melodies, pitch-black vocals, and infernal drums. The new Hellsaw opus "Cold" will be released in the spring of 2009."

Aries commented: "We are very proud to be a member of the Napalm family. Not only is it proof of our hard work, but also a major sign that Napalm Records return to their roots and put their faith in a fucked-up Austrian black metal band. We honor this sign of trust and in return will unleash our album "Cold" early next year. Fans can expect a composition of hate and brimstone, all-crushing blastbeats, and raw guitars filled with deep melancholy."
