Candiria - To Release Rare Tracks/B-Side Album

Alternative/Experimental/Rap Metal band Candiria have announced plans to put out a record consisting of rare tracks and "b-side" material. Details have yet to be finalized, but the group has issued the following:

"We have decided to put out a rare tracks/B sides record. Older, odder material that never made it to any of the records for one reason or another, OR, stuff that was never actually intended to go on any of the records but was written by a Candirian. So that is next on the agenda... after that a remix compilation."

Sirenia - Pull Out Of Tour With Therion

The following message has been posted by Christofer Johnsson on the official Therion website:

"Due to line-up problems Sirenia are forced to pull out and won't be able to fulfill their commitments. As we're on tour and time is short, we won't replace them. Therion will be playing 2,5 hours with a break in between and there will be a considerably improved stage scenery so there is no real need for a mid act in order to have a full evening going. On top on this there will be special guests and special performances (more info to come on that further on)."

The Vision Bleak will open with a 30 minute set, followed by an 2 1/2 hours set by Therion including one pause of 20 minutes to set change Therions production.

Therion will tour with belly-dancers & dancers + special guests of Therions history, choir and rock band. A total of about 14 people.

Testament - Recruit Ex-Slayer Drummer

According to a blog on the legendary Bay Area Thrashers' MySpace, Testament are officially working with acclaimed drummer Paul Bostaph (ex-Slayer/ex-Forbidden/ex-Exodus).

Paul Bostaph will join the ranks alongside originating classic thrash legends Chuck Billy on vocals, Alex Skolnick on lead guitar, Eric Peterson on rhythm guitar and Greg Christian on bass.

Unfortunately Nick Barker will not be recording with Testament on this new album, due to Homeland Security and International Work Visa issues. Rather than delaying this long awaited return of Testament, the band has chosen to recruit Paul Bostaph, long time friend and member, to record on the much anticipated album, which is tentatively scheduled for a spring 2008 release via Nuclear Blast. Paul Bostaph will join the ranks alongside originating classic thrash legends Chuck Billy on vocals, Alex Skolnick on lead guitar, Eric Peterson on rhythm guitar and Greg Christian on bass.

Malevolent Creation - Line Up Changes

Floridian death metal act Malevolent Creation check in with the following lineup news:

"Yes, we have a new drummer and bass player...

Malevolent Creation will finally be able to tour with no further interuptions. Dave (Culross, drums) and Jay (Blachowicz, bass) could no longer commit to Malevolent Creation, due to job obligations and other interests. Best of luck to them.

Malevolent Creation have found a reliable drummer and bass player who will be able to tour consistently. Their names will be posted soon. We want to thank all of our friends and fans for their continued support.

See you all on tour! No one can destroy this Malevolent Creation!!!!!!!"

In the meantime it is announced that Malevolent Creation have recruited drummer Fabian Aguirre (Synapticide, ex-Grindcrusher, Misty Fate, Angel Negro) as the replacement for the recently departed Dave Culross. Handling the bass duties for the group on the road will reportedly be Marco Martell, who has already previously toured with the band.

The band previously stated about Aguirre, "Malevolent Creation compare this drummer to a Gene Hoglan-type of style and is a brutally fast hard-hitter."

Dark Fortress - Working On New Album

Dark Fortress have successfully finished the vocal recordings for their new album. At the moment guitarist V. Santura is working on the mix.

We hereby would like to seize the opportunity to clarify two things:
1. Our new frontman Morean is not the singer, but the guitarist of the band Noneuclid! The vocal styles of Noneuclid and Dark Fortress are actually quite different.
2. The forthcoming album, which initially was entitled "Scum", is now named "Eidolon". The musical compositions remained, but new lyrics and vocal lines have been written and arranged. "Eidolon" is a concept album which in its nine chapters describes the initiation, dehumanization and unearthly rebirth of a transcending soul by mirror magic and astral projection.

Furthermore, Dark Fortress are confirmed for Metalcamp Festival 2008 (04.-06. July 08) in Tolmin, Slovenia.
