Mercyful Fate's original bassist Timi Hansen has publicly revealed that he is battling cancer. Hansen went public with his diagnosis after it was announced that he wouldn't participate in the band's 2020 reunion. Filling in for him will be Armored Saint and Fates Warning bassist Joey Vera.

Romanian festival Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2019 is still far from over, but the first bands for the 2020 have just been announced. These are The Black Dahlia Murder, Death Angel, Kataklysm and Rotting Christ.

The 2020 edition will take place between the 30th of July and the 2nd of August at the base of the Rasnov Citadel. The first 500 tickets can be bought right now at the festival for 150 RON, with the next 1000 being available at the festival and online for 190 RON.

Italy's death metal outfit Hour Of Penance announce details surrounding its eighth studio album, titled Misotheism. The album is set to be released on October 25th, 2019 worldwide via Agonia Records. Misotheism was worked on three different locations. Drums were tracked at Bloom Recording Studio (Italy), guitars, bass and vocals were recorded with Marco Mastrobuono at Kick Recording Studio (Italy). Finally, the album was mixed and mastered at Hertz Studios in Poland.
