Recently, Arch Enemy announced their plans for the next few releases they have in store. The melodic death metallers performed in Germany at Wacken Open Air 2016 on August 6th and that performance was filmed for an upcoming DVD/Blu-ray/live audio release. This is the band's second live DVD with new vocalist Alissa White-Gluz after War Eternal Tour: Tokyo Sacrifice, released this year. But there is more coming from Arch Enemy. The band is already writing new songs for their next record, the first with guitarist Jeff Loomis on board.

The output is hitting stores on October 14th, 2016 on Despotz Records, followed by the Maximalism European tour with Amaranthe and Smash Into Pieces. The band describes their new coming album Confessions as a new start for Sonic Syndicate. In late June 2016, the band entered Purple Skull Music to record their new album with producer Kritoffer Folin.

Power metallers Secret Sphere recently joined Frontiers Music Srl and promised new releases, including a new album and their first live release. Indeed, they just announced the release of One Night In Tokyo on October 14th! During the band's last Japanese tour, in support of the Special Anniversary Edition of their signature album A Time Never Come, Secret Sphere had the chance to record their show in Tokyo in its entirety. To enhance the celebration, the band agreed to the label's suggestion to release a brand new version of "Lie To Me," featuring a duet between Michele Luppi and former Nightwish singer Anette Olzon.

Wacken Open Air 2016 will tighten the security measures in the wake of the recent terrorist attacks in Germany, including a July 24th suicide bomber at an Ansbach music festival. Due to security concerns, all backpacks and bags are banned from the event area. This year, 1349, Alcest, Arch Enemy, Blind Guardian, Equilibrium, Ihsahn, Iron Maiden, Marduk, Testament, Triptykon, just to name a few, will perform at the festival this summer. Some 80,000 metal fans will be heading to Wacken Open Air next week.
