Mastodon - Win Grammy For Best Metal Performance

The 60th annual Grammy Awards were held last night at Madison Square Garden in New York. In the metal category, Mastodon took home the Grammy for "Best Metal Performance"! They won with "Sultan's Curse" from their latest album, Emperor Of Sand. The other nominees were August Burns Red, Body Count, Code Orange, and Meshuggah.

Auri - New Tuomas Holopainen Band Debuts Single, Reveals Album Details

You might remember that a few months ago, a new band called Auri was announced. Finnish singer Johanna Kurkela (Sonata Arctica, Tuomas Holopainen) lent her voice, while Troy Donockley and Tuomas Holopainen (Nightwish) cast their spells with various other instruments. Using selected guest musicians and friends, the album finally takes its ultimate form under the direction of sound engineer Tim Oliver, all within the 'Real World' studios in Southern England. Now, the band has released their first digital single for the song "Night 13".

Chaostar - Announce New Album, Share Song

Unexpectedly, Norwegian symphonic black metallers Dimmu Borgir just unveiled the details of their new album, which you can start to discover today! Over seven years, deathlike silence has filled the halls of Dimmu Borgir whilst powers have been gathering to resurrect the band right in time for their 25th anniversary. Now they finally mark their return with a "vicious work of art that can be defined as timeless in the truest sense of the word," according to the label. Ulcerate - Official Live Video Revealed

New Zealand technical death metal Ulcerate have been touring in support of their current album, Shrines Of Paralysis.
