Adagio - Filming Ukraine Show For DVD

French metallers Adagio will headline FKRock Festival in Kherson, Ukraine on May 21st 2010.

Comments the band: "After a succesful European tour supporting Kamelot, we're very happy to play in Ukraine for the first time. This festival seems to be one of the most important rock event in Ukraine (Within Temptation headlined last year) and we're very much looking forward to meeting the Ukrainian metalheads next month. The show will be entirely filmed in HD as we're planning to release a DVD sometime next year. So far, we have a lot of video footage featuring some cool live stuff and above all, some very crazy moments (...particuarly in Japan and Spain). Of course, shows with Mats Levén are awesome, we have had loads of fun together, both on stage and off stage. The last show in Belgium with Scorpions in front of over 6000 people was a blast. We're very much looking forward to playing the upcoming shows in Tunisia (May 15th) and Ukraine (May 21st) together again."

Funeral - New Vocalist, New Album In Autumn

Norwegian doom metal band Funeral has issued the following update:

"Funeral have parted ways with singer Frode Forsmo (ex-Old Man's Child). We wish Frode the best of luck in the future. We are very pleased to welcome our new vocalist, Sindre Nedland in our ranks. He is known for composing some truly amazing harmonies in both Myrkgrav and In Vain, and inhibits a unique variety in his voice and singing-style.

Funeral have also ended the cooperation with Indie Recordings, and we are currently in negotiations with other labels. The new album is about 90% recorded, and will hopefully see a worldwide autumn release."

Icarus Witch - Part Ways With Vocalist, Announce Replacement

In a statement on the band's website, the US heavy metal band Icarus Witch announce the news they have parted ways with their singer, and already announced his replacement. Here's the full message:

"We are excited to announce yet another massive shift in our ranks as we welcome new vocalist Christopher Shaner to the Icarus Witch circle and part ways amicably with original vocalist, Matthew Bizilia. Matthew's contributions to the band have been immeasurable over the past six years. While this was a serious decision for both parties, professional differences of opinion led to the change. Bizilia is a phenomenal talent who will always be a part of the Witch family as we wish him much success on his future ventures.

Incoming vocalist and Erie, Pennsylvania native Shaner is a long time friend and collaborator of guitarist Quinn Lukas. Before Quinn moved to Pittsburgh to join Icarus Witch in 2006, he had worked on various musical projects with the singer. Much like the recent acquisition of second guitarist Ed Skero, the choice to add Christopher to the band was based on a combination of what he brings to the lineup personally, musically and professionally. His powerful vocal range, sense of harmony and intense work ethic are a perfect fit for the next phase of this band. Writing for the follow-up to Draw Down The Moon has already commenced with the new recruits and it promises to be the band's most diverse, melodic and epic release ever.

Friends of the Witch can get a taste of the new line-up as Christopher and Ed make their debut at Pittsburgh's Hard Rock Cafe Friday, May 28th, where the band will be opening for Lizzy Borden. Also on the itinerary are the Warriors Of Metal III Festival in Ohio this June, and some exciting tour news to follow in mere days.''

Redemption - European Tour Cancelled

US progressive metallers Redemption are forced to cancel their European tour. Guitarist Nick van Dyk explains:

"I am sorry to say that we are faced with the reality of having to cancel Redemption's intended European shows the summer.

Part of our unique sound comes from our vocalist, Ray Alder of Fates Warning. As a long-time fan of Fates myself, I have always maintained that Redemption would not interfere with Ray's commitment to Fates, and we have worked very carefully and diligently since Ray joined Redemption in 2005 to ensure that both bands would be able to record and perform without conflict.

We intended to play several shows in several countries this summer in support of our new CD, Snowfall on Judgment Day. Our management and local promoters in Europe worked hard to line up some great shows that we were very much looking forward to playing. Originally, there was no conflict, even when Fates announced some special shows and festivals to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their fantastic Parallels CD.

However, some additional shows were then added on Fates' schedule. We intended to carry on and simply reschedule some of our dates, shortening the tour to ensure that there would not be a conflict. Again, our management and local promoters worked hard to ensure we'd be able to do this. It became economically more difficult, but Redemption was prepared to accept that since we really wanted to play for our fans in Europe. As of a week ago, we still intended to move forward.

However, after considering it, Ray determine that the schedule -- which would have involved him performing headline sets with us, then taking a very long flight, having only a brief time to recover before performing headline sets with Fates, then having to fly back to Europe and perform again -- is simply too much to take on. There's just no way to do it while performing at the level that I know Ray wants to.

So I'm left with the unfortunate reality that we're not going to be able to play Europe this summer. Please understand we've done everything we can to find a solution -- but none were available to us. We look forward to coming to Europe at another time, and thank you for your interest and support."
