Profetus - To Begin Writing New Album
After the release of their third full-length album this June, funeral doom monsters Profetus are about to begin with the writing of the new record. The successor to well-acclaimed As All Seasons Die will see the light sometime next year. Other details will be unveiled subsequently in months that follow.
Mainman and guitarist/vocalist Anssi "Vrasjarn" Mäkinen commented: "Autumn in the air and for me it's time to get away from people and daily life, and embrace Doom in my small home studio. I've started to write some new material so to speak, for the Profetus album scheduled at some point of next year. It feels it's going to be a whole different path from the others, yet still guarded by the watchful old ghosts I'm starting to get familiar with. Burn, Lanterns of Eve!"
In other news that might have slipped away a couple of weeks ago, the band parted ways with guitarist Daniel S. Lowndes due to his personal reasons. Daniel has been part of Profetus for the last two years. Replacement on second guitar will be a familiar face, Eppe Kuismin, who has already been a member of Profetus in years between 2006 and 2012.
