Also I love that cover. Actually looks like a typical film soundtrack cover. Looks familiar too; it’s gotta be based on something in particular.

No offence, but did your ancestors still live in trees in 1927?
Oi give us a break man. Some of my family still don’t even have cable in their trees. We’re working on it.
In all seriousness I'm definitely familiar with Imperial Triumphants Metropolis aesthetic, and I guess that is what the poster is based on. Probably got thrown off by the fact that the girl in the middle is human and not an automaton or something.
EDIT: wait no she is a robot. Oh my lord i am a blind monkey
You know now that you mention it Ive never actually seen Metropolis. I should rectify that since it entered the public domain not long ago, and considering it’s mostly restored now.

Even as the owner of their previous album on vinyl, I think the artwork there was garbage. This time the cover is gold (literally duh!).
"Lexington Delirium" feat. Tomas Haake of Meshuggah on drums is a good song. Though not that crazy.

Will need a few more listens to properly consider it, but off first listen it might be my favorite of theirs.

I find this a tricky band to get into, their style is often too complex and obscure for my liking, and this album doesn't seem much different imo. Once again, it has it's moments and some impressive musicianship skills, but I'm once again feeling underwhelmed by the overall compositions. It might be a grower in time, but judging by what I thought of their records I'm not convinced.

This sounds like a couple of b-sides to me. Nothing new really anywhere on this album and some unnecessary interludes. At least the final song is very good. I am really disappointed. Hopefully this will grow over time.

I think the short runtime hurts this album, with it being almost exactly a half-hour shorter than the last two. Leaves no room for for that vintage IT experimentation and the songs don't get a lot of room to breathe. Before it even gets going, it's already done.
I still enjoy it a lot; the highs are very high and the lows don't detract too much from the album. Wildest cigarette commercial I ever listened to.

Now that I've listened to the album numerous times over the weekend, I can at least say that I think it comes close to its predecessor. “Eye of Mars” is a wonderfully intricate and at the same time opulent opener. The three singles that follow are not what I want from Imperial Triumphant, but at least they are entertaining and in their shortness somewhat of a new thing for them. Unfortunately, they are followed by a stretch of useless interludes and the meandering, monotonous "Rot Moderne" - that only remind me how much I miss Yoshiko Ohara and a consistent album concept. “Pleasuredome” then is a good, albeit typical IT song, which makes the atmospheric “Industry of Misery” shine even more and provides a worthy finale to an entertaining, but equally less artistic album than the predecessor. Stil a very close 8/10 for me.

The whole album is a big 10 for me.
Just can't stop listening to Hotel Sphinx.
Thank you guys! You are really Triumphant!

I'm getting some big Demigod era Behemoth vibes in some of these songs.

I know this is avantgarde, but it seems they constantly intent on eliminating any semblance of flow. Some parts in this album really push the envelope in ways that I find really enthralling, but are always subsequently mired by vapid, dissonant noodling. I know others wouldn't call it that, but in any case this band could be so much more if they just wrote tighter songs.
