Doro - To Work On New Music Output Later This Year
Almost close to a year after the release of Conqueress - Forever Strong And Proud, Doro drummer Johnny Dee broke the news in a new interview with 'Metal Rules' that Doro Pesch and co. could work on another album at the end of this year.
When asked about Doro's upcoming plans, Dee said: "The festival season is in full swing, and we're still promoting the last album with ongoing tours. It's always busy with various activities in between. The live band is one thing, but she's always handling her own projects on the side. So, we've planned the festivals and have a short tour in December. We still have some shows to finish the summer festivals, but after that, there's a little tour in December and some one-off events here and there. We're also heading to South America—there's a show in Bogotá in November. Plus, there's the "Metal Queen Metal Cruise" in Germany, which is happening in late December. She's got a big fight with her friend Regina Halmich coming up, where she'll be a guest and doing some promotions around that. So, this cycle is still ongoing. I guess she'll start working on the new record again at the end of the year."
As the interviewer said, "So quickly, really? It's only been like a year since the previous album, Conqueress - Forever Strong And Proud, was released.", Johnny added: "Probably, yeah. But she would be better off asking about that because I'm not involved in the writing process as much. The guitar guys usually submit some riffs and ideas—Bas, Bill, and even Stefan, who got two songs on the new album. That process seems to be working well. Her producer, Carsten Steffens, lives close to Doro, so they can easily get together. As for me, I'll just keep going with however many gigs we have. I've been sticking to that, and so far, the schedule has worked pretty well, even though I've got some other things going on. I missed a few gigs this year, maybe two or three because they were double-booked. And yeah, I think that's it."
