When I first heard the name of the folk metal genre, I wondered how the traditional sounds of a country were combined with metal music, but when I first listened to Finnish folk metal music, I found all my answers. Undoubtedly, the main focus of folk metal is Finland, and Finntroll is one of the main pillars of the country in the metallic folk genre. A group with six beautifully crafted albums and new techniques in the folk-metallic style brings out the true nature of the Finns, which always gives me a sense of both satisfaction and excitement.

It's awesome. Way better than Nifelvind. The use off jazzy brass gives it a weird feeling, but it stays far from Trollfest-territory. Blodsvept is more focused, more direct and more powerful. Every song has a major hook that makes it instantly recognisable. It's the same Finntroll, yet slightly different. Amazing album.

I unlike some here have thoroughly enjoyed Nifelvind ... there's imo so much diversity in it and one catchy song after another ... I've just picked up my copy of Blodsvept and it sounds promising ... I'll decide after a couple of spins if i like it more or less than Nifelvind

I'm a long time fan of Finntroll and yet again, to my great delight, they fail to dissapoint. I really liked Nifelvind but so far, I'd say that Blodsvept is even better.

Really good and fun! I feel it's a mix between Jaktens tid, Ur jordens djup and Nifelvind. It's maybe even their most solid release!

When I heard the first song they released (Blodsvept) I thought it sounded a bit bland but after hearing the album I can tell you now that in its entirety, it's far from bland. It's cheesy as fuck but it wouldn't be Finntroll without that element.

I guess its the best album since Ur Jordens Djup, i will always miss the old finntroll style though, but this is great and blodsvept is a hell of a song

I'm not a huge fan of folk metal generally but this album is just so catchy and fun that I can't help but to have a strong urge of drinking lots of beer and hopping around like a lunatic when listening to it.

Awesome album, very catchy. The song "När Jättar Marschera" is stuck on my head. Always liked brass instruments in Metal like in Solefald and Sigh albuns

To me this sounds like a throwback to their Nattfodd-era stuff. Not sure how I feel about that...

The last couple of albums since Vreth joined the line-up let me renew my love for the band I once felt after listening to "Midnattens Widunder" and "Jaktens Tid". "Blodsvept" follows the same direction and shows that the band clearly is not lacking in inspiration and energy. Those 40+ minutes has run so fast that I was left dumbfounded and craving more.
