Fleshgod Apocalypse - To Begin Tracking New Album

Fleshgod Apocalypse are back at work on their next album and it's a concept album. In fact, the Italian symphonic metallers will tentatively release their new record titled King in early 2016 via Nuclear Blast Records. The tracking will start this summer at Kick Recording Studio and 16th Cellar Studio in Rome. Mixing and mastering will be handled by the world-renowned Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, At The Gates, Arch Enemy) at Fascination Street studios in Sweden later this year. Get ready for King!

Acclaimed artist Eliran Kantor (Testament, Iced Earth, Kataklysm) will handle all the artwork and iconography for the album that follows 2013's Labyrinth.

Francesco Paoli, drummer/songwriter, comments: "The new album is called King. It's a concept album. It took longer this time but I believe it's a sign of more maturity and determination within the band. We can't release something mediocre just because it's enough to keep things rolling. I believe the music world requires people to work harder on their material and that is what Fleshgod Apocalypse is set to do in this 'new middle age' era. At the end of the day, quality is the final goal, right? That's why our expectations in our music and writing become higher every time we approach the stage of creating a new album. We always follow our feelings and try to express our state of mind through our music, and what we have in our hands now is the darkest Fleshgod album ever. As for the concept behind the album, all I can say right now is that I think we need a good psychiatrist!"

A split cd between these guys and Septicflesh would be the greatest thing ever made.

I'll admit I would love to see a logo for "Scepticfleshgod Apocalypse".

Great! I love Agony and Labyrinth, hope they follow the same way

Get a better producer for this next one. Labyrinth was amazing but the brickwalling is just ungodly unbearable. Worse I've ever heard on an album.

I don't agree even tho I like Agony a lot more than Labyrinth. So I hope their next album will be a killer like Agony !

I've never been a member of the "it's not tr00 if it has keyboards" camp, but I really hope they mix and produce the sound on this album better than Labyrinth. The music was good but it's nearly impossible to listen to, the awful production makes it sound so monotonous.
The guitars need to be more present to balance the drums, and the symphonic stuff needs to make sense.
Guess we'll see when they release a single at some point, maybe later this year.

This news could be a ray of hope for fans of FA.

Better come up with better record or disband it once and for all.

I agree with those who say Oracles is their best work. I haven't been too impressed by anything other than that and the Mafia EP, which I quite enjoy. I kind of wish they progressed more in that direction rather than focusing on orchestration.

Stunning Cactus
Jens Bogren as the producer is an novel idea. Definitely will fix the mixing issues. Also, as Agony was a fine album, and the following not bad itself, I expect to see great things come from them next year!

Agony was great but Labyrinth fell short. Dont get me wrong i like it but it wasnt a memorable release and the material on it never made me want to to go back to it that much. Extremely high hopes for 'King'

I think all their stuff has transcended the tech deatch and symphonic stuff of other bands by glueing it together so nicely. It's a bitch to mix though. Really hoping to see further development in their sound. Unlike those who only like the early stuff, i've been a fan of all their work.
