Interesting choices, but I never would choose Mustaine of Vetterli myself As for the vocals, it would either be Chuck Billy indeed or Mille Petrozza, depending on the level of aggression wanted

28.09.2018 - 15:09 Written by ThrashMilitia on 28.09.2018 at 14:36 Well, I didn't comment about the rest as I would have made the same choices (DiGeorgio, and probably more Lombardo than Hoglan as Lombardo has done some wackier stuff) And yeah, as second guitars, I'd add either Marty Friedman or Alex Skolnick - with Vetterli that would be just all kinds of awesome oh, and if we consider dead musicians too, I'd take Gus Chambers on vocals, as he expressed a wider range of emotions than most of thrash vocalists

David McGraw is indeed a good choice, he's a beast. Too bad he has never played anything even close to thrash. Vocals: Martin Walkyier (Skyclad) Guitar 1: Andy Sneap (Hell) Guitar 2: Simon Jones (Sabbat) Bass + additional vocals: Gustaf Jorde (Defleshed and Evocation) Drums + keyboards: Daniel Erlandsson (never really played thrash either, but his works for Eucharist, Brujeria and Carcass were insane. Not mentioning 'that other band' for reasons.) My dream line-up seems to be a little odd, but only at first glance. It combines two generations of skilled musicians, three of it's members having proven to be a perfect team by creating my favorite thrash metal album of all time. The rhythm section consists of two younger but experienced members to round off the supergroup's line-up with some fresh blood and to yield modern influences* - because that's what today's thrash metal is lacking the most. Besides, on board are at least three exceptionally gifted songwriters, two producers, one sound engineer and a true lyrical genius - important aspects I am desperately missing in most of the aforementioned line-ups. *in terms of speed and heaviness and in contrast to antiquated songwriting

15.04.2019 - 15:45 Written by Darkside Momo on 15.04.2019 at 14:52 Dude, I really hope you're just kidding. What's wrong with e.g. "I'll never go to Africa again."? Just in case you didn't know: after an eruptive lyrical climax, that's the dissolving final line of "Raped By Elephants", taken from Torsofuck's highly appreciated poetry collection Erotic Diarrhea Fantasy. True art and deep lyrics in all respects.

This is such a difficult one to decide, in the end I'd go with something like this: Chuck Billy - Testament - (Vocals) Kirk Hammett - Metallica - (Guitars) Dave Mustaine - Megadeth - (Guitars) Steve DiGiorgio - Testament - (Bass) Dave Lombardo - Slayer/Testament - (Drums) Martin Walkyier - Skyclad - (Lyrics) Choosing a guitarist is almost impossible, in the end I went with a duo, but Hanneman could easily replace one.

Alright, so based on their skills, sound and how Id see my perfect Thrash band, here it goes. --- Bass (3 Choices) --- 1. Scott Clendenin (RIP - For his stellar performance on Death's the sound of perseverance.) OR someone alive... 2. Philip Kyle Hall (aka Land Phil from Municipal Waste, Iron Reagan and Cannabis Corpse, amazing bass player truly some sick moves à la "Sadistic Magician" would be more than welcome.) 3. (Not quite Thrash) - But another possibility would be Tony Choy, one beast of a bassist, especially fond of his performance with Atheist on Unquestionable Presence but I mean he's also played with Pestilence and Cynic, c'mon. --- Guitars & Vocals --- 1. Gary Holt for Guitar (Huge fan of Exodus, legendary metal guitarist and especially love the riffs on Bonded by Blood, tons of classic composition credited to him.) 2. Dave Davidson for Guitar & Vocals (From Revocation, I like their more technical stuff and he's got some pretty good vocals, aggressive and just the type I like, also a pretty great guitarist.) --- Drums --- 1. David Vincent Lombardo (I mean this guy doesn't need an explanation, one of the loudest drummer out there, he's played for Slayer, Testament and Suicidal Tendencies, I mean you guys get it.) --- Potential Vocalists (Shift of Sub-Genre) --- 1. In case I want the band to go crossover thrash, I want Tony Foresta from Municipal Waste, the guy's got the absolute best vocals for that sub-genre, I never found any other crossover vocalist that has quite this impact. He's also fucking relentless, which is perfect for crossover. 2. If I'd want a more theatrical clean vocals kind of style (Instead of Dave, which would just remain on the guitar) I'd go for someone like Russ Anderson who's done the vocals on Twisted Into Form, my favourite Forbidden album and one of my favourite thrash album of all time. He's got great range and timing and does some pretty funky high pitch. 3. Finally if I wanted even more aggressive and scarier than Dave with a tint of blackened thrash I'd probably go for Skeletonwitch's ex vocalist Chance Garnette. He is a stellar vocalist and live performer, parting ways with this guy was a mistake on their part... Mind you, he apparently was problematic. Nonetheless, great vocalist. So... that's pretty much it. It is hard, there would be so many more possibilities hahaha.

10.08.2023 - 12:05 Written by Nejde on 10.08.2023 at 11:29 I guess it does sound kinda morbid really. Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman would be my option number two though. So to give them a chance I will create a rival supergroup, which would be: James Hetfield - Metallica - (Vocals/lyrics/rhythm guitar) Kerry King - Slayer - (lead Guitar) Jeff Hanneman (RIP) - Slayer (2nd lead Guitar) Cliff Burton (RIP) - Metallica - (Bass) Igor Cavalera - Sepultura - (Drums) But I could go on and on creating band lineups, the possibilities are endless
