I think my one disappointment so far is the title track, I found the other songs to be more memorable.
I think the title track isn't bad, it's very memorable and enjoyable, i think all the tracks are very enjoyable. My personal best songs are My Confession, Veritas, Sacrimony, and Prodigal Son.

Yeah, I don't think it's bad or anything, but it's just that some other ones jumped at me more, like the ones you mentioned, as well as Jolee and Torn personally. I guess I was expecting something really epic because of that cool title, haha. That said, I'm really happy for Tommy (especially after all the latest Nightwish drama) because I think he did a really good job of easing himself into Kamelot with this album!

I agree, especially if you're familiar with Tommy's work with Seventh Wonder. I do have to say that his voice is way different from SW in Silverthorn though, but that doesn't mean it's a Roy clone or anything (like I've seen some people implying). He's fitting really well with Kamelot which is all that matters for me!
I'm liking the album. Although I couldn't quite find any songs that I think I'm going to obsess over like Karma, Forever, Center of the Universe or March of Mephisto, they are all pretty solid in my opinion. I think my one disappointment so far is the title track, I found the other songs to be more memorable.
I don't regret pre-ordering. Now for my limited edition to arrive *rubs hands together*
I think one of the reasons why his voice is different in Kam is that he is holding back just a teensy bit. Which is okay, people need time to get adjusted to the new voice, and writing the vocal lines, he's not going to make it all about him and fill it with bravado we're used to in Seventh Wonder. This irks me a little since I know what he's capable of, but it is completely understandable and there are plenty of moments to shine ("Song For Jolee", "Prodigal Son" - STRAIGHT TO THE FEELINGS), just not enough for my taste.
Some tracks have amazing live potential - Torn, Veritas, Solitaire. I'd like to see them playing most of the album on this tour... provided I do get to see them on this tour. And of course, can't wait for my album to arrive too. Though I didn't see the point in ordering the two CD edition, why would I want an instrumental CD of an album which features Tommy Karevik
I also couldn't stop thinking about Simon Oberender during my listens. It is fitting that this is the last thing he participated in.

Last night i heard for the first time their single Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife), and i must say i am impressed! Tommy as a new vocalist has proven himself as a great replacement for Khan. Even though they have the same beard style , sound similar, dress similar, and similar gestures, which i think Tommy practised movements , all in all he is great. I can't think of anyone who could fit in the band beside Tommy. As for the song itself, it is nice and catchy, melodic, but i have admonition. The chorus which is quite nice, the last 15 percent of it, "forgive my sacrimony" part, is just terrible, in whole musical sense, it just doesn't fit as the end for the song. It is weird, and looks like they rushed somehow to finish the chorus. Also i think that female growl part is totally unnecessery. Instead Alisse should sang that part with low darker town, deep, and eerie, not growl, after all if something ressembled Kamelot is that their songs is without that stuff, beside March of Mephisto or Great Pandemonium or one more maybe. VIdeo is great, all in all, i would give it a rating of 4/5 because in some rare parts it looks like an amateurely montaged. Anyway this song from my personal opinion is quite nice, i just hope remaining songs would be similar like Ghost Opera, Black Halo etc. and not like Poetry because it was terrible, besides 3-4 songs which are cool.
p.s. i forgot to laud beautiful and great singer Alisse who did awsome job in singing and acting in the video :-)

Great new album! I wasn't expecting much in the beginning until I first heard Sacrimony and just how good Tommy's voice fit with Kamelot. The whole album is very good and Tommy has proved himself a worthy replacement. He's always been an amazing singer.

Must agree with you Codorna, definitely their best since Black Halo. Very surprised by the quality of this album. Even though I think it has kind of a slow start but then it just grows.

First: Tommy Karevik is a great singer.
Second: For me kinda letdown. Sacrimony is nice song and from the whole album there are maybe 2 more with memorable melodies. Rest is just boring with zero original ideas or guitar riffs/solos . After few spins I can say this for certain. Silverthorn isn't really better than Poetry and I won't play this album anymore. To concert I am coming only for sake of old times.

Its definitely better than Poetry (which had 2-3 good songs). Its better than Ghost Opera as well although i actually enjoyed ghost opera quite a bit. Still not as good as black halo though.
I wonder though how this album would have sounded with Khan on vocals (Tommy is an amazing singer, but im curious).

The album is great, for sure way better than Poetry and Ghost Opera. Still not enough spins for me to tell if it is the second best (I cannot really imagine a release topping Black Halo), but it gets better with every listen. Tommy's voice is amazing and almost indistinguishable from Khan's, but somehow I find his performance in Seventh Wonder more impressive.

Back with a vengeance! Blows Poetry away if you ask me. The rest of the tracks don't quite reach the level of Sacrimony but solid throughout.

Definitely splitting audiences I already loved it the first time, and the more I play it, the more I love it. Just like haladflire said, the only relatively unmemorable track is Silverthorn, and I'm enjoying even that one a lot. There is a feeling they were trying to recreate the "past glory", but they completely succeeded in it. As a longtime fan, I'm proud of them.

Easily the best album since The Black Halo. I really enjoyed Ghost opera, but this one is superior. Tommy really brings something new to the band, the melodies in every songs are very nice and I can hardly say which songs are my favorite, I like them all.

OMG!! I am nearing the very end of the album, few more songs left...but i HAD to leave a comment about this album! It is awsome in all of its awsomness! This is a must have for every fan! Tommy is doing a hell of a job! Every song is nice and catchy! "Torn" is majestic! This album reminds me somehow between Black Halo and Ghost Opera, something in between. There is no experimentation like in Poetry, which i disliked very much! Beautifull album, finally! I for myself thought it would be another step backwards after Poetry, but i was mistaken! My speakers is at 90 percent of their volume :-)! Wonderfull! Just...Wonderfull!

Ashes to Ashes is a killer song. Might be one of the best. Veritas and Silverthorn are also great songs. I like the touch of loudness and aggressiveness they added in.

Just listening to the 4th song right now, and I dont feel much difference in the vocals. I like that
I loved Ghost Opera and the Black Halo, and this seems pretty close to them.

I like this album a lot, though I think it completely takes Kamelot out of the symphonic and metal genre and into one of alternative rock, or simply gothic rock. Compared to Black Halo, Ghost Opera, and even Poetry, it lacks the atmosphere and moody orchestrations that these previous albums displayed so well. Keyboard and guitar parts also seem very uninspired and more for a backing to the vocals.
I have been a fan of Tommy's vocals for several years now listening to Seventh Wonder. The vocals are arguably some of his best, and the vocal melodies on the album are fantastic if not some of the best Kamelot has written.
I'm really enjoying the album, just in a different way than the previous. It's like listening to a Disney movie soundtrack (a quality I enjoy quite a bit!) Though I truly wonder if I had never known about seventh wonder if I would accept Tommy's vocals, since they are very modern and pop-ish. Really curious to see the reactions to this. Really glad it's finally here and a wonderful listen all the way through.

Pretty damn good for a replacement, only made it to "Torn" but this sounds damn near close to Roy Khan's vocals, it's great and honestly so far better than their last album.

Such a romantic album, I might have to raise my rating.. Looks like there will be more lonely nights of singing along with Kamelot.
There's a little vocal drop/hook at the end of the chorus in "My Confession" that is reminiscent of Jorn.
"Forget and forgive~~" Wonderful.

Was doubtful that they could find a replacement for Roy Khan, but after listening to the album they definitely made a good choice with Tommy Karevik. Quiet a few well written catchy songs, definitely going to buy this one.

The vocals is quite ok, but the rest feels uninspired. That single was very good, another disappointment of the month . I'll try it again soon, but I doubt it'll grow on me
