If you are then I definitely am. I took a step away from this site and the scene almost entirely for about 3 years, so I'm really not an authority on what's relevant and why these days.

Mgla had done it again!!! By far the best album I have heard this year, they just keep cranking out masterpieces!!!!! Now see this would have been something to have had to wait 13 years for unlike another album I shall not name loooools Glad to hear they are still one of the best modern black metal bands out there! Already can't wait for what they unleash on us next!!
Yes, they have done it again! An album that sounds exactly like their previous ones. What they unleash on us next? Probably more of the same. It's a one-trick pony.

I'm not much of Mgla, his previous albums seemed good to me, but without more, but admit that this new record is very good

Same as their other albums - an enjoyable but one-dimensional listen.

Some fresh riffs and melodies from time to time and that's about it. They aren't pushing the genre anywhere new at all, so I'm guessing all black metal fans on this site are fawning over it mostly because it captures the feeling of grimness in their heart that other bands haven't been able to do in a while.
Exactly how I feel about it. Mgla and also Inquisition are probably the biggest examples on this site of black metal bands that are both generic as hell yet still get people wildly shooting their loads with each new release. I've never quite understood the hype either.

An easy explanation could be that both bands -especially Inquisition- manage to squeeze in one album more awesome riffs than most black metal bands do in their entire discography. At least that's what makes me shoot my load with each new release of either of the two. For more reasons why I think people (including myself) like Mgla, you can read the review I wrote

At least in Inquisition's case, the more than decent riffs still don't make up for how awful the rest of their music is.

It's pretty good, but I think I prefer the previous two albums. I haven't listened to them in a while, but here the vocals annoy me. It has that shouty growl element that reminds me of Behemoth somehow. I wonder if that was the case with the band's previous stuff and whether it annoying me back then.

Has much less replay value than expected. The other 3 albums are superior in that regard. Not to mention the EPs. Despite being a good album (#2 is one of the best mugwah tracks), could be their worst. Maybe it's because sticking to a formula (even a winning one) can become wearisome. Well, it was a good run nonetheless.

I will listen it more in proper time but... Right now I can say that this album isn't as innovative as previous releases. Instead this album is like another definition of BM made by Mgła. Or rather: Mgła is developing their conception about BM [definition]. it could be described as something innovative in the genre. I would rather described it as "personal view" about the genre. However Mgła didn't add too much new elements to this definition on this particular album. It is not bad but differences between this and previous albums aren't as substantial as between "With Hearts Toward None" and "Exercises in Futility". Still, I think Mgła is great band. I like their consistent image, artwork, lyrics etc. Real deal!

My deepest apologies that I don't think a band has to be genre pushing to keep putting out good music. If you find something good there is nothing wrong with sticking to it, if everyone keeps bending genres farther and farther we will end up with different variations of white noise and arguing over who's white noise is better. Also, Opeth has continously evolved and you can see how much people love that hahaha... But that being said I'm not trying to be an ass I like new and exciting things but everything doesn't have to be that

Try III and, above all, VI, their best track to date, in my opinion.
