Guib's Awards (Changes Yearly)

Year Currently Covered: 2024
Hey folks! Welcome to the greatly coveted Guib Awards (not really but it's fun for me in any case)! Instead of creating a list every year, I've decided to make a single one that will change yearly to feature my favorite albums of the past one. This is now the second edition of my very own awards, so let's talk about 2024! I will only cover a maximum of 50 albums, all featured on MS and they will be placed in alphabetical order (of the band's name). 2024 was a once again a great year for metal and especially for death metal & more so my beloved Canadian scene (Devin Townsend, Anciients, Sentiment Dissolve, Apogean, Dissimulator, Panzerfaust, Traveler, Kittie, Korrosive, etc...). So many great releases saw the light of day and quite frankly, it was a blast spending what little free time I had listening to all that new stuff. There was a few letdowns "cough" Greif "cough" and some welcomed surprises like Pyrrhon shadow dropping the amazing Exhaust (and also all that talk surrounding Acid Bath's 2025 gig). All in all, a fun time and I wanna share my yearly metal perspective with y'all. Hope you'll enjoy and maybe some of you will agree with a few of my picks. Cheers to good music and keep having fun! Fixed Bloodletter's link, Seems like it links to their Demo with the same name rather than the studio album.

Slight update made to this one. Added CauseNeffect - Validation Through Suffering which was not featured on MS until a couple days ago.

Again I updated this one since Somnium De Lycoris was added to MS only a few days ago. I added their album In The Failing Hours. Nice Melodic Tech-Death from Japan.

Whats up folks! Currently compiling my 2024 "Awards" which will represent my favourite 50 albums of the year. A bit more than the first half is there, stay tuned for the rest hopefully by the end of this month, so soonish! Cheers all and keep sharing & enjoying the good music.

Updated with my MSA votes with the category (you can find them with the √ symbol.) And no I didn't vote in every category Also changed my intro for 2024 and added my top 3 albums of the year in it. That's new for this year. Why those? Because I've played those 3 more than any other albums this year and that must mean something.
