Damn just dusted this one off after a long shelving, much better than I remember. Sounds an awful lot like Nevermore.

Sounds an awful lot like Nevermore.

I've listened to the classic Nevermore albums (TGA & Dead Heart...) and can't completely agree with you based on those. They have similar vocals but I find Communic to be more melodic.

I'll give you that, its not quite the same but the vocals are really what set me thinking of Nevermore.

All the songs are listenable and are solid but... not sure how to rate it. So it's an 8 but it's boring as well. I don't think I look forward to listening to it again.

For some reason I thought the band felt a bit repetitive right after the debut album but listening to this now I think it's slightly stronger. It's possibly a bit more uneven than the debut but songs like At Dewy Prime, Under A Luminous Sky and the title track are stellar and among their best.
