Not bad not bad

From start to finish.....unskippable album. I am surprised. Every Saxon album in the last 20 years at least has some great/powerful tracks but the rest of the song list is at the edge of what we can describe as ...descent fillers. In Carpe Diem every song stands alone as a highlight track in any previous album. No, they didn't discover the wheel again, but this time they make the wheel spin for sure.

very nice surprise. This could have come out directly from the 80's.
Very New Wave of British Heavy Metal sound.

It seems Saxon have mastered their basic style so well they basically can't make bad albums at this point of their career as long as it's their original material.

What I like about Saxon is you know where you stand with them, they may not create anything spectacular, but they make consistent, decent music, and still use their nwobhm format, which has always worked well for them.

Great album. Classic Saxon... A successful and enjoyable style.

To me best album from this year, I dont know why, has some riffs, lyrics, its basically Saxon and that band is legend, even first 5 never will be beaten, but this is not bad.

It's a good album overall, a mix of some good songs and a few average one's. "The Pilgrimage" is a great song, with a great memorable riff, it's up there with Saxon's best.

Lets be fair, biff byfford sounds amazing considering he is 71. Sure this is no Saxon's best album, not by a long shot. But you got to actually admire that they still make music for over 45 years.

Read some place it's their 23rd album. Great stuff for number 23. Finally listened to it today, I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's straight and to the point, I wish Maiden did something like this instead of their never ending albums in recent years. They could take a lesson from Saxon TBH.

Excellent Album from the mighty Saxon! I hope they have an album or two more in store for us. If not ,it is a grand sign off from one of my metal heroes and I am glad to have been on this Pilgrimage with Saxon for over 25 years.

Respect to the legends of HM. History has its golden place for this band for almost 50 years. Considering the number of albums till date, they are still going strong. Pilgrimage is super track.

Couldn't agree more. This is indeed the best assessment of Saxon

Awesome album from these seasoned campaigners. Word of warning - if you want to live, do not play this while driving.
