This is just as I expected from Dark Funeral, a decent album, but nothing spectacular, it's not quite on the same level as The Secrets Of The Black Arts, or Where Shadows Forever Reign, but it has some fine songs on it. It's an unfortunate shame the album has been let down by the poor production.
The mix on this is abysmal. The drums sound totally lifeless, the guitars are buried, the vocals are dry and way loud, and there's no atmosphere. Its a shame since the music is pretty fucking great.
I like how they turn extreme image of st. ann and then turn to dark sinister lyrics, IMO their bets album ''The Secrets Of The Black Arts'', gooe music, lyrics, atmosphere, a bit abm here , riffs I also like lyrics and as they sing. Good album.

I better die, because I never will learn speek english, so I choose dieing
As said above, the production could've been better but I think the songs are good enough (not groundbreaking though) to keep the interest. I miss some wow-moments but overall solid album.
Honestly i don´t think the production is the problem. Solid production like in previous records. I think the main problem is the lack of good riffs, no memorable songs. Just heaviness and speed but no real quality, the same problem of "Attera...." album.
"Nightfall" almost gets a highlight, but i think the one that really stands out is "When i´m gone", a slower song, which basically says it for the rest.
A positive note though, for the introduction of slower parts, solo drums and dreamy intros that gives a new range to the Dark Funeral sound. Pitty the rest.
I guess a lot of people buy albums before listening to them first. I can't think of any other reason why this album would be the current #1 in the MS charts.
This album disappointed me. I think it's their worst work compared to other albums. From the album "Vobiscus Satanas" to "Angelus Exuro pro Eternus" they had their best period in my opinion. After that their music slowly started deteriorating. "Where Shadows Forever Reign" was meh and this one is even more meh. I don't see those fast furious blasting drums anymore which Dark Funeral was famous for. Also I don't like new vocalist's voice. He can't do high pitch screams and clearly Emperor Magus Caligula was so much better. Just listen to Diabolis Interium and then listen to this album and you will understand what I mean. This album feels like a cheap quality compared to it. They sadly lost all that energy they had in the past. This album seems sluggish, lifeless and can't even remember single memorable song from it.
Same happened to Marduk. Marduk's era with vocalist "Legion" was the best era. After his replacement it became just another sluggish, boring band. Seems like those bands are having a hard time to find a good vocalists and drummers.
First time listening to DF. From what i see here through rating, this is their least favourite album but for me, this is an excellent album. I loved their style and like these kind of melodic black metal. 👌 'When I am gone' is too good.

In the beginning I was made of clay. Then I bit the apple and they changed me to metal 🤘
Oh man, one of the cringiest black metal bands ever is back. After all these years, they are still just a bunch of clowns desperately trying to look and sound evil. Unsuccesfully, of course Their music has never actually been bad, just boring but the lyrics and the whole image is beyond ridiculous. The main reason why I've never been able to get into them.
OT: this particular effort is expectedly mediocre and instantly forgettable. 'Diabolis Interium' still remains the best record of their career.
