Life Promised Death may suggest a fitting title for a dark theme to surround Farsot's latest effort, but the band offer more than just darkness on this album; for their 25-year anniversary, they're pulling out all the stops for this one.

What great album this is, one of the finest I've heard so far this year in fact. There's so many majestic melodies, and enchanting atmospheric soundscapes, and many influences can be heard too, Agalloch in particular.

There are a handful of albums each year where I find myself shocked that the response is so lackluster, and I guess this will be one of them for 2024. Each song is a journey and an adventure, featuring an assortment of outstanding melodies with tons of atmosphere. It’s one of the most enjoyable listens front to back in the last couple of years of black metal, honestly. Each listen convinces me further.

I feel like this one is being overlooked, and I’m really not sure how.

Pretty descent album and it is pure black metal too. Enjoyed it for 5 to 6 spins and then I started feeling the whole thing monotonous. Lost interest after that. Still I would it rate it high.

In the beginning I was made of clay. Then I bit the apple and they changed me to metal 🤘

This was really good. There are certain acoustic sections that are embedded within the black metal get up that works out beautifully. Also the last track is very very good.
