I guess something is still happening within the Iced Earth camp. On 28 April 2023, the band will put out two new EPs through Rock Of Angels Records. Entitled Hellrider and I Walk Among You, these releases will include rare recordings from the transition phase between singer Tim 'Ripper' Owens' and predecessor/successor Matt Barlow in 2007 and 2008. Both EPs will be released on various vinyl formats as well as two-in-one digipack CD and 2LP Picture disc combo.

2021 isn't wasting any time with drama. On January 6th the U.S. Capitol building was overrun with armed protesters during the final senate certification of the presidential election. This caused the meeting to be temporarily postponed and elected officials to be escorted out. These individuals were caught on camera vandalizing offices, breaking windows, and attacking police officers.

Iced Earth have some exciting news to share. The band announced the re-release of their first demo, Enter The Realm, originally released almost 30 years ago. It will be available for the first time ever on vinyl as well as 30th anniversary edition cassette (limited to 300 copies). This re-release is scheduled for April 12th 2019, excatly 30 years to the day that the original cassette was released on April 12th, 1989.

Currently on tour in Europe, U.S. metallers Iced Earth have recently talked about the re-recording of their early albums. In a recent interview, guitarist and band leader Jon Schaffer discussed this idea. The band is going to be re-recording the early catalog because Schaffer doesn't own the master rights and there's no income coming from that. If they redo those records, then everybody in the band will be able to get a royalty in the future.
