Mnemic - Start Recording New Album In February

Danish metallers Mnemic will enter the Antfarm Studios in Aabyhøj, Denmark, in February 2012 with producer Tue Madsen to begin recording their new album for a June 2012 release via Nuclear Blast Records.

The band posted this statement on their official website: "With the release of last year's Sons Of The System, Danish modern metallers Mnemic have undergone quite a few changes. Keeping quiet, doing only select shows in 2010, the band never toured properly, and never discovered the demand for their style and music. Today, the band is praised and being recognized as part of the djent music scene, a genre created by the polyrhythmic pioneers of metal, Meshuggah."

Mnemic - Part Ways With Bassist, Seek Replacement

Official press release

Bassist Tomas "Obeast" Koefoed has decided to part ways with Danish/French "Future Fusion Metallers" Mnemic:

"It's time for changes and towards fans of Mnemic I'm sad to announce that I have played my last shows with Mnemic in Spain in March. Because of my forever continued dedication to music and metal it has not been easy to make my decision to leave a great and innovative band like Mnemic after 8 succesful years with 4 releases.

Personally I don't feel my ambitions are fulfilled in Mnemic anymore and I wish my brothers and friends in band and crew all the best for the future. It has been some amazing years in many ways and I've learned a lot about myself and the music business, about what to do and what not to do. We have moved fast and achieved a lot in a short time with our music and concepts, toured and become friends with some of the greatest bands in metal, but I feel my cooperation with the band has peaked. This is not the end for me in metal and hopefully soon I can announce myself in another ambitious project. I have good people working with me and I have now officially signed up and put myself available as live/touring and studio/session bassist, so see you out there, anywhere, everywhere. My very own new website will be announced soon, so stay tuned. Thanks to all my fans for your support over the years and in the future! - Horns! Beast."

Commented the band: "Sadly and unfortunately all things do come to an end. Compared to others, our line-up has been quite stabile for some time, but now it is time to part ways with our friend and brother, and take a step into a new direction. It was awesome jamming with the Beast, as always, and our split is totally mutual as friends and compadres. We wish him the best for his future endeavor and hope to see him on stage again!

To complete the groups line up, we are as of now seeking a replacement. If you are interested in taking over the bass duties, throw us an email with your info (age, experience, gear, photo etc) at: neurotic mnemic com. In the meantime, we have commenced composing the fifth album, to be released in a not so distant future. Thanks for your patience and looking forward to be seeing y'all out there!"

Commented mainman Mircea Gabriel Eftemie: "We brought our robots to Sweden, and Patric produced again a video that goes beyond any expectation. We are definitely and extremely happy with the outcome, and we hope that you will enjoy our ugly mugs as much as we did, when we first saw the video." Drummer Brian Rasmussen added: "Nice to see we are having fun, instead of looking serious and evil all the time... Cool video!"

Mnemic - New Album Cover Art Revealed

Official press release

Danish modern metal heroes Mnemic just revealed the artwork for their highly anticipated new album Sons Of The System.

Mainman Mircea Gabriel Eftemie states: "Since late 2008 we started looking into artwork for the album, but it was not before we entered the studio in October, we actually found a solid idea. We wanted something simple, yet strong and something archetypal, for this release, and we wanted to do it the right way this time. On the last release we never had any artistic control over our artwork, we just hired a name, a company that worked for majors, where our visions never converged into what we really wanted. This time around we reached out to hundreds of designers only to find out that we could do it our selves and even better! The artwork portrays the Sons Of The System symbol. Its the symbol of the united, the symbol of the outcast, the symbol of the people in revolt of a greater evil. The real deal lies in the booklet artwork, which has been conceived by Rune Stigart and Me... more on that later."

Mnemic will release the entire artwork/booklet etc... early next week in a digital flip book!

Sons Of The System will be unleashed in January 2010 via Nuclear Blast!

Mnemic - Enter The Studio

Danish metallers Mnemic have entered the studio to begin recording their 4th studio album, entitled "Sons Of The System" for a January 2010 release via Nuclear Blast Records.

The band states: "After a minor 2 year break from touring, we have returned to the studio, to record 15 brand new tracks. Our batteries are re-charged and we are extremely excited to let you all hear the new stuff. The material it self is a mixture of grind, rock, polyrhytmics, electronics and represents the sound of a more mature Mnemic, at least in our humble opinion. Compared to the last album, the recordings will be kept completely on Danish soil. This time we are more within our own comfort zone, and will be working with the same dude that made us 2 great sounding albums in the past, which is none other than Tue Madsen, who is a really good friend and a great producer. The drums will be tracked at the Antfarm Studio, while guitars, bass and vocals will be immortalized at the bands own studio, under Tue's supervision. At the end of the recording process, electronics, mix and mastering will then again be handled at the Antfarm Studios. During the recording process we will try to keep you all updated on the progress via this location."

Mnemic - New Album In The Making

An official statement regarding the band's activities was posted on their MySpace page on Thursday and reads as follows:

"It's about time we rise from the dormant and break the silence, to give you all an update from the Mnemic camp!

Its been too damn long since the last update, which i must apologize for. First of all, a really late Happy New Year from the lads in Mnemic to all of you reading this. Since we took a break from touring in 2008, apart from playing a few shows with Metallica (Yes, I still mention this cause I'm damn proud of it!), things have been quite productive. We have definitely not been lazy, that's for sure. As we did recharge our batteries, in this break, we also fell the hunger for creativity and started writing new material. Already by now I can confirm that we have 11 brand new songs written, and we are still a long way from finishing. The plan is of course to write as many songs as possible until we are 110% satisfied with all the material. For now the title of the album is set as "Sons of the System".

Why is this taking so long you may ask? Because we want to be 100% satisfied with this release and not put out an album we just worked on two months in advance prior to the recordings. On the other hand, as the release date has not yet been set, I assure you, this will definitely not be a Chinese Democracy in the making.

On a last note, we have quite a few surprises up our sleeve for this release?.and as for touring, there will only be shows co-inciding with the release of the new album, which means you'll have to wait a bit if you want to see us live. Its all part of a greater plan ;-)
