Gamma Ray - New DVD Finished, But Release Delayed

The new Gamma Ray DVD with the long title of "Hell Yeah! The Awesome Foursome (And The Finnish Keyboarder Who Didn't Want To Wear His Donald Duck Costume) Live in Montreal" has now been finished. The production has just been completed and the band were ready to hand it over to their record company to get it released. But Gamma Ray have been informed that the Sanctuary office in Berlin will be closed by the end of this year which makes it impossible to release the DVD at the moment.

So Gamma Ray are now working with the Santuary office in the UK to get the DVD released. Due to all this, the DVD will now be released around April 2007.

Here is a comment by Gamma Ray: "I know these are sad news for all of you who have waited since month for the release and expected to watch the DVD at the latest under the x-mas tree. But you can be sure that we're also very disappointed with the actual situation and work hard on a solution for the release. As soon as the situation is clarified we will be back with more news.
Thanks for your patience and keep your heads up high".

In other Gamma Ray news, the band is also working on their upcoming album. The songwriting has started and demo versions of new songs are being made. The album will be called 'Land Of The Free II' and Gamma Ray hopes to have it released sometime next year, as well as the DVD.

After Forever - Sign To Nuclear Blast

The ongoing rumours about After Forever signing with Nuclear Blast for their upcoming album appear to have been true - although neither party made an official announcement yet, an After Forever page has been added to Nuclear Blast's official website. It is still under construction, but it can already be viewed at this location.

UPDATED:
As rumored here earlier today, Nuclear Blast Germany have issued the following press release regarding the signing of Dutch metallers After Forever:

There have been a lot of rumours already, now it's finally official: Another superb band has found its way to the realms of Nuclear Blast - After Forever! The Dutch act around front amazon Floor Jansen (also known from various guest appearances for projects of Arjen Lucassen - Ayreon) is specialized in thrilling melodic/gothic metal and ranks among the "big ones" of the scene in their home country. The band already toured with Nightwish and had appearances at every important festival BeNeLux-wide (such as Lowlands, Pinkpop, Graspop, Dynamo Open Air, Fields Of Rock), not to forget a steadily growing fan base in South America, France, Spain and Germany!

Guitarist Sander Gommans about the signing: After Forever has grown a lot the past years, we've done more and more shows and festivals worldwide and also experienced a lot of improvement musically. I feel that After Forever is stronger than ever, as a group but also musically, this is the right time to choose for a label that can help us realising our dreams! Because the core of the After Forever songs is metal orientated, it's a very natural decision for us to choose for Nuclear Blast!"

After Forever have almost finished the recordings for their new, yet untitled album, which is going to be released in Spring 2007. Produced by Gordon Groothedde (Dutch studio luminary), the record not only contains great new songs but also an overwhelming session with the Prague Symphonic Orchestra! A tour afterwards is already planned as well.

With a new record company in True Metal Of The World Of Steel Rec., a new tour planned and a new album on the way, NanowaR Of Steel will continue to explore musical truemetal worlds with the precision musicianship and unique lyrical concepts that their fans have come to expect and adore.

Moreover, NanowaR Of Steel will unleash their first live album entitled "Made In Naples", it will be a double cd containing the recordings of their "Metal Dayz 2006" show in Pratteln and a second disc with previously unreleased live and studio tracks, the single "Christmas with NanowaR" and a live show recorded in Buenos Aires in 1983.

Catamenia - Member Leaves After Russian Tour

Token from the Catamenia newsletter:

"To prevent the annoying speculations of how things went in European Tour and why Tero is not anymore in the band, we decided to make an official statement regarding the situation.

When finishing the Russian Tour, Tero informed at the train station of St. Petersburg he won't continue to the European Tour with us, but he'll go back to Moscow. We do not know the exact reason for this, but we have seen how things turned out - he simply followed our Russian promoter there. Thank you for these years and good luck in the future, Tero.

European Tour - Managers from ProMusic Productions/Romania were totally rip-offs and did not care about bands at all from the start.
They broke every paragraph in the contract, but still we continued the tour for the sake of the fans and local promoters. Managers did not provide us decent breakfasts, meals and not even water. We had to sleep in a really small bus, one night spent in parking lot in Switzerland when waiting another bus to come cause the previous one broke down near Milan. After the last show we went to Budapest where there should have been hotel provided from 24th to 27th of October as agreed, but guess what - NO! They just left us there, broke the promise and contract so we had to pay everything ourselves.

Thank you really much fans, local promoters and Winterhorde. You kept us going on and you're the reason why we did not cancel the tour! Fuck off Nelu and Dana from ProMusic Prod!"

Rage - Nuclear Blast 20 Years Compilation

Posted on Rage's official website on October 29th:

At the moment, Victor is working on another big project, a compilation CD for the 20th anniversary of Nuclear Blast.
It will be an album, for which Victor will completely compose, record and produce about 10 songs for various metal bands of Nuclear Blast history, inclusive a new Rage song, furthermore Peavy helped with the lyrics! The organisation is big stress, as it's not so easy, to get musicians from all over the world with different tour and studio schedules reconciled.
A detailed studio report of this production will follow.

Klimt 1918 - Line Up Changes

The band has posted the following statement in their official website:
"We are sorry to annunce that Alessandro is no longer a member of Klimt 1918. We appreciate that this may come as a surprise to our fans and friends, however the reasons for this decision are a lot, professional and personal, due to misunderstandings, different point of views related to the band. We wish Alessandro all the best with his future projects, musically or for his life.

The new Klimt 1918's guitarist
Klimt 1918 are proud to announce the new guitarist Francesco Conte, close friend of the band since 10 years. Stratovarius - Album Update

Stratovarius guitarist Timo Tolkki has issued the following update:

"I have written 11 new songs and we are first going to demo them. This will be completed by the end of the year and we will enter the studio to record that actual album around February. Timo Kotipelto is releasing his third solo album around that time (and what I have heard, it sounds really great) as well and he has naturally promotional activities and I think he is also doing a tour during Spring. Stratovarius production will be ready sometime in the summer 2007 and depending on various different things, the album, entitled R...... R.......:), will be released in October 2007 or in the beginning of 2008 followed by a massive world tour. So all okay here, everybody´s happy, the songs are great and we are looking forward to the new adventures."
