Apothys - Auditions For New Drummer Position
Through an unfortunate turn of events recently, Apothys is faced with the task of replacing their drummer. Auditions will start very soon.
Apothys is an established, original metal band out of the Woodbridge, Virginia area, and they have been generating a lot of buzz in the Northern, Virginia/Washington, DC area. They released a demo this past year that has garnered some great reviews, and is being played on several underground stations across the country, and a few overseas.
Apothys has also opened for some national bands, including Venom, Dope, Evergrey and Nevermore. Their music has been described as heavy, brutal and driving, and they have been referred to as "Virginia's Metal Monsters". They are also well respected by many bands that they have shared the stage with who view Apothys as being a very "tight" live band.
In the past year they have written more than enough material for a first album.
They are now faced with finding a new drummer, due to some unforseen circumstances. If you are interested and feel up to the task, send a message from this site or the Apothys site. If you are not familiar with Apothys, check out the Cold Shot Productions site or the Apothys site to hear some of their music, to see if you can play their music, and to determine if it is the type of music you want to play and be part of.
Please Note The Following:
Their influences are Black Metal, Doom Metal, Progressive Metal, and Progressive Death Metal. Send us your application if you meet the requirements. Leave your email or phone number on your message and we will get back to you.
Requirements: (Must have to be considered)
1. Have your own transportation.
2. You must own the necessary equipment to join the band. All of your equipment has to be reliable to play during practice and live shows.
3. Some source of income so you can always maintain, repair or replace your equipment as needed. You must be able to support yourself.
4. Attitude. Your attitude is a great deal towards the band. Apothys will not deal with a bad attitude. You also have to be social in the degree where you get along with the members. Do not allow your personal life to affect your playing or relationship with the band. Leave all that, and especially ego, at the door.
5. You have to have a decent if not a great amount of stage presence. The live show is a very vital part of being in this band. Just because you sit behind a drum kit doesn't mean you are not expected to have some level of interaction with the audience.

Power Of Omens - Original Bassist Matt Williamson Loses Battle With Cancer
Guitarist David Gallegos of defunkt San Antonio bases prog-metallers Power Of Omens has issued the following statement in regards to the passing of the band's original bassist Matt Wlliamson:
"It comes with great sadness to announce the passing of one of my dearest friends... Matt Williamson.
As many of you know, he had been diagosed with terminal cancer almost 2 years ago, and was only given 3 months to live at that time... but Matt's determination to fight this and win the battle was evident in his amazing struggle to survive almost 2 more years after his diagnosis.
Unfortunately, as I just found out this morning (December 14th), Matt lost his battle this past Saturday, December 9th.
He was an incredible person, a great friend, and an absolutely amazing bassist and musician. He will sorely be missed by his wife, family, as well as his Power Of Omens family."
Former bandmate and current Zero Hour vocalist Chris Salinas states, "Matt was a great person and great friend who also served our country proudly in the Army. He played a key role in the writing proccess of the first Power Of Omens CD. Things were never the same when the country called his name and he had to leave. I love you Brutha and I will miss you. You will live on through music forever."

After Forever - Guitarist Issues Side Project Update
After Forever guitarist Sander Gommans has a side-project called HDK, which he describes as "a lot more agressive and guitar orientated than After Forever. However, because I write all the stuff, you'll certainly find some After Forever elements in these songs." He has issued the following update:
"The first new singer that will give his contribution to the HDK project, will be Mike Scheijen of the band 37 Stabwoundz (www.myspace.com/mike_37, www.37stabwoundz.com)
This guy has a kick ass voice (extremely versatile, sometimes his voice even resembles Phil Anselmo) for the real agressive stuff, check out the websites!!! It could take a while, but I'll put some vocal parts online as soon as we've recorded something."

Minotauri - Record Deal With Firebox Records
Minotauri signs with Firebox Records
Finnish traditional doomsters MINOTAURI have signed a deal with Firebox Records. The band's final album, aptly named just "II" was supposed to be released by Italian cult label Black Widow Records, but due to various reasons, it never materialized.
After this, Minotauri signed to a French label Sound Spheric Records and after signing the deal, the label's boss died in a car accident, thus eliminating that label.
Finally, Finnish label Firebox Records came to rescue and the release date for the Minotauri II is set to be 18th of April 2007. The band just finished their (propably) last shows with their friends Reverend Bizarre & Spiritus Mortis on a mini-tour titled "Friends of Hell II".
