Ministry - Begin Work On Final Album, Reuniting With Paul Barker
Following Al Jourgensen's announcement from
last February when he said that
Ministry would be retiring after one more album, the long-running industrial metal band recently confirmed via
social media that they have officially begun work on the follow-up to last March's
Hopiumforthemasses. Due out sometime in 2025, the record see
Ministry reunited with Paul Barker, who was the band's multi-instrumentalist from 1986 to 2003.

Ministry ending on low note. Last 3-4 albums were horrid.

Paul Barker is a key member for some of Ministry's best albums though. So there is hope for a decent swan song if they truly commit to it.

On the contrary, last three records were true return to form after some middling albums. Especially the last two albums are on the level of the early 90s Ministry. I hope the last one will be at least as good.

AmeriKKKant, Moral Hygiene and HOPIUMFORTHEMASSES were "on the level of the early 90s Ministry"?
We are not listening to the same albums.

AmeriKKKant was pure tripe, but Moral Hygiene and HOPIUMFORTHEMASSES were decent. If their “final” album is the same quality It’ll be a good enough swansong.
Assuming the retirement sticks of course.

I agree. The last two albums were/still are definitely better than AmeriKKKant.

I couldn't agree more. I still have The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste and of course Psalm 69 on regular rotation like I did back in the day.

Some of their previous few albums before the last three, including Houses Of The Molé and Rio Grande Blood, kick ass!
