Follow Me Through 2015.

Yep. I'm arrogant and unoriginal enough to think you'd be interested in reading about everything - the good and the bad - I have listened to that's been released in 2015.
- Will assign ratings (which are always susceptible to change), with a short justification, links, links to reviews (by me) if there are any.
- The albums to which I assigned a ★ are great new discoveries, or really original, or albums I didn't expect to be so good.

This list is most importantly a very good way to keep track of my own listenings in one place with all the links to albums, bandcamps, and reviews accessible. And secondly, if it can serve as a warning, I don't see why not. And finally, because it's fun, I like to give my opinion on things.

I suppose. I would think that that would work in an almost reverse psychology way though: if you tell someone not to listen to something because it's bad, they'll likely check it out anyway just to see if it's really as bad as you say, thus (possibly?) defeating the purpose. Anyway, it's interesting to see how people take to this approach differently, at the very least.

I don't care what people do, it's just an advice. And if they listen to form their own opinion, it's a win-win because there'll be a debate/agreement. I see reviews the same way. I think you're over-thinking it.

Manson still on top. Impressive. I liked what I heard of it, but I think I'm just too much of a purist listening to the first three albums for so long.

Manson still on top. Impressive. I liked what I heard of it, but I think I'm just too much of a purist listening to the first three albums for so long.

Well, for me, it's kinda why it's still on top, I have been so hopeless for him for so many years that it took me by surprise, my expectations were so low that I ended up getting addicted to it. I do hope I'll find something better though. Knowing me it'll be non-metal. I was just now looking for releases to be expected in the coming months, I haven't been very active on that front and it has to be corrected.

Hahaha, perfect use of the meme. Well, I think there's a reason. In december 2013 I finally gout out of a long relationship, we had been together (with on and off periods) for seven years and lived together for three. I hardly listened to music during those three years because we had strong disagreements, so I just took the minimum of music I could with me to school/work, and the lack of peace and time made it really hard for me to discover new music. I've been music hungry ever since I left, and especially now that I got back to metal (had stopped listening to it for six years) and discovered/re-discoevered things. There's also the fact I live in Morocco now, where the access to any music and cultural activities is zero, so music is the only window my mind can escape from.
So I just cross-compare multiple sites, lists, etc, I watch label's pages, add any band I like on fb and download a whole lot. It takes a lot of time (I am more or less unemployed for now) and organisation (I have notebooks to keep track of what I need, and what I have listened to).

I can relate on a bizarrely similar level. Was also in a relationship for 7 years (engaged for 2, lived together for 3-4). This was several years ago, though. Now in a much better relationship wtih two kids. Here's to music and recovery. Keep up the good work.

Hehe thank you . Not to worry, I try to update it daily, or every two/three days max. If I wait too long before doing so it piles up and I become lazy.

Either that or the band has released some weirdly varied material.

Thanks for recommending Viet Cong's album; it's like Joy Division married to Television with a healthy sprinkle of noise on top. Excellent!

The pleasure is mine! Indeed there's a little Tv there and the almost industrial noise parts just make the tension rise so high, it becomes hypnotic. I'm liking the album more and more as I keep coming back to it. I'm very happy someone actually uses this list, and discovered it. Especially a non-metal album like this one that I can't review.

I was going through your list and noticed #4...I thought..."Shit, this is in my library unzipped, I will listen to it ASAP." Wow, great sound. Their are definitely "post" elements within the music, I just wish the album was longer. Great rec - keep em coming.

You're welcome! It has a touch of post-metal even, not just post-rock. You also will enjoy Abstracter (#43), even if it isn't a mind blowing album, it really has a couple of crushing atmosludge/blackened doom/post tracks that I'm sure you'll enjoy at least a little bit.
Also did you eventually get around to that Tellus Effluentia - Physical, Emotional, Temporal EP? I'll do a CC thing on it soon anyway, you'll have that as a reminder .

Sitting in my library unzipped. Too much dam music. I checked out the bandcamp page and listened to a few minutes of the first track and downloaded it right away. I will get to it. Also, you do a great job on the CC articles. Oh, and I will check out 43...

Yeah this is seriously nice, I'm just three tracks in and I feel confident enough to post about it. It'll be revisited for sure, and I'll get on the previous album soon too (lower priority, but still). Thanks for the discovery really .
EDIT: It's at #8. Also, that moody jazz interlude <3.
