But kudos for By Inheritance (it seems to me that many thrasheads neglect this gem). I would probably put Terror Squad also, and among the first ten at that.

It's also funny that you, well obviously, prefer World Circus to Think This (Toxik), but okay.

You have the wrong Voivod album on here...NothingFace isn't really thrash at all...more prog than anything. Dimension Hatross would be a better choice!

Yeah, their first two albums in particular. Some of the best Thrash I've ever heard. Never, Neverland is one of my favourite albums in general, some really unique Thrash there.
Both Toxik albums are great, though World Circus is easily my preferred of the two.

Hey thanks! Looking at this list again, Toxik's "Think This" is a lot lower down than I would place it now, it really is on par with "World Circus", perhaps even my favourite of their releases now. They're some essential listening for thrash fans in any case. Speaking of which, I haven't checked to see what's come of their reformation, should keep an eye (and ear) on that.

Thrash ain't my thing generally and I'm unfamiliar with the majority of these albums. However, I expected to see some meshuggah and nevermore on here.

As far as I know, neither of them are considered traditional thrash metal. Meshuggah is progressive, Nevermore is heavy metal and also progressive.

they might not be traditional thrash but are certainly a part of thrash metal genre. Perhaps a little unorthodox in nature but I'd say meshuggah are technical thrash and nevermore are progressive thrash with a little power metal elements.

I figured as much. I guess you haven't seen Star Wars (which is a shame since it's an essential movie even if you're not into sci-fi/adventure movies) and the Family Guy episode that contains a "scene" that's based on this scene in Star Wars:

I haven't heard the first meshuggah album. Regarding their other records, well they do sound thrashy on my ears but you might be right. I don't really know what "groove metal" means. Some albums described as groovy I checked and did not like.
In the case of Nevermore, I think they are more extreme than just plain "extreme heavy metal", and fast enough to be considered a thrash metal band.

Ah that was too much of expectation. I've never seen star wars and will probably never see. Really don't like sci-fi at all. As for Family Guy, again, I haven't watched it , too. Guess that I'm a total noob when it comes to movies/series.

Groove metal - basically an evolution of Thrash that was heavier, slower and more groovy. E.g. Pantera, Machine Head etc.

As for Nevermore, they don't necessarily sound Thrashy when they get heavy. I'm at a loss as to how to classify them.

At the time of making this list I had in mind to put down a bunch of albums that were the most appealing to me, and also those I would recommend to any thrash fan. I suppose I didn't include Nevermore because in my view they're more closely aligned with progressive metal than thrash.
I can't recall exactly, but at that point I don't think I'd heard any Meshuggah, and to this day I'm not very fond of their music, not a big fan really.

Thanks, and about Nevermore, I'd go with Progressive Metal more than anything else, though they are very heavy and thrash based. I wouldn't call them power at all either, any US styled power metal is pretty much dropped after Sanctuary's debut, and the guys who went onto Nevermore went for a sound I'd associate more with the follow up "Into The Mirror Black", which was a thrashy kind of heavy metal rather than having anything I'd describe as "power metal."
From my perspective Nevermore's self-titled is a progressive mix heavy and thrash metal, and they ran with that style, making it increasingly more progressive in later albums.
