Haha I think I know what you mean now. Let me put it this way : I don't like the most extreme sorts of death metal, which is brutal death, not because of extremity itself. BDM lacks any type of soul for me. Grind is a little to much for me to handle because it gets a little too samey, and that makes the extremity a little unbearable.
And I pretend that I haven't heard half of that video today :p
Not heard anything from the other two bands you've mentioned. Will check ASAP tnx.
Oooooh okay. Now I understand. I just took it like a weird contradictory taste in metal. After all we all have our oddities. I love pop but I can't stand its equivalent in metal. I would be willing to take a huge dump on Liv Kristine's face in public if I had the chance. That's just an example, to add shock value .
You know, if you're willing to try, I have now a good number of nice grind bands in my catalogue. Just ask what kind.
Also. If you have never tried Necro Deathmort, start with Music Of Bleak Origin, but it was released in 2011. Electronic/ambient/drone/doom goodness.

Yeah sure. I can't put my finger on any special sort of grind as I don't know much about it. Whatever you think I'd like is good enough for me.

Okay, I'll keep it BM influenced/based for the moment, I recommend you try:
- Euglena: black/grindcore. A younger Anaal Nathrakh without the cyber elements, and ten times better than what they released this years. Bandcamp and free legal download.
- Sectioned: very modern dissonant grind, almost cyber. Crazy. They released a split with Shudder, but Shudder sucks, start the listen at track #3. Which is just as addictive as the last track - it's a beast, the best I've heard this year. Bandcamp and free legal download.
- Nesseria: more black than grind, almost calm in comparison with the two I mentioned before. Bandcamp that bitch.

I think there are far worse than her in metal.

Christ that video was awful. It's like skimmed milk and water. It's pop lying about being metal. Or metal lying about being pop. I don't like lies.
I mean I love pop, I love techno, I love old-school EBM, but I can't stand anything that mixes those things with fake guitars, weak lyrics, wears black PVC suits, hires two whores for their videos, and pretends they're new, cooler, darker, goth-er and shit.
And I'm ranting on mz's list.

This list still slays. I'd say you're definitely the user on MS that is the most similar to me taste-wise. I really wish I knew you when you were a larger proghead, though...
PS: You should consider Gazpacho's Demon. I think it might be one of Gazpacho's finest albums- R'Vannith gave it a 10, I think it's 9-worthy, and while it might be a little dull, the final track is one of the best moments in 2014 if you ask me.

Haha I'm accomplished to have a taste similar to yours. Btw, I was not as active, neither in forums not in finding music during my prog period. Used to listen like 50 albums per year, which is 10 times less than what I've probably done this year.
Regarding Gazpacho, I like their previous record when it came out but I keep forgetting that they have a new output. Will hopefully check it this week ( as I'm super busy for the couple of days now)

I can't say I don't know why you dislike/hate her, but for what it's worth, she was part of the very early gothic metal scene and sang on one of the best albums ever, in the subgenre (I'm asssuming it's quite obvious which album I'm talking about).

I don't care about what she sings, this is what caused that statement of mine: http://www.metalsucks.net/2009/11/03/top-5-reasons-why-liv-kristine-can-suck-it/. It's women like these that make me hate women in metal.

Hence the "for what it's worth". Yeah, I quickly scanned through that article and from what I've read it's pretty ridiculous.
So I have to say I agree with you, more or less. I still have some respect for her because of Velvet Darkness They Fear though.

Haha sorry for the harsh tone. I'm pissed at women and the way they behave on the internet these days, and especially today with the sci-fi-shirt-gate.

Don't worry about it, I get your issue with (women such as) Liv Kristine. They give the others a bad name.

Probably already asked you this, but what's your opinion about post-metal? If you haven't thoroughly investigated Rosetta and Blindead, those are my two favourite post-related acts.

Haven't heard much from post metal tbh. I checked some Blinded and Rosetta, though and liked them a lot. Still need to go to the neurosis and have better investigation on their disco because TSiB and TEoEV both kick ass seriously.
And yeah, I haven't head Gazpacho yet sorry

List almost finalized.
The top ten records will stay there in the future. I expect slight change of order for the rest, though. Initially I wanted to eliminate some and reduce it to top 30, but it seems fine as it is now.
Thanks to anyone who had any recommendation to me this year
btw, the list is not close ended. Feel free to have suggestions
