That's my year! And yet there's not too much stuff I care about from then. Megadeth's grand return after a few questionnable outputs is the only highlight we have in common. Other than that, Meshuggah released their best song on an awesome EP, Pig Destroyer unleashed their mugnum opus, and Quo Vadis, Le Scrawl, Mayhem and Mastodon all released some pretty cool stuff that year. Other than that, there's not much I've heard that I liked.

Wow! Cool list It seems each year gets more and more diverse.

Drudkh - Autumn Aurora is a must for me from this year though, if you haven't listened to it yet, I highly recommend you do so

Megadeth did make the list but got nudged out at the last second, I love Mayhem but the Maniac era isn’t “my Mayhem” if that makes sense. Mastodon only got a shout out because Blood And Thunder is IMO one of the best Metal songs ever but everything else I struggle to get into as much. Cheers for the suggestions.

I haven’t delved too deep into Drudkh yet but I’m planning to thoroughly explore Folk/Pagan Metal in the near future so I’m sure I will soon.
