If anyone had cautioned guitarist Randy Rhoads, bassist Bob Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake about the notoriously difficult second album, they clearly weren't listening. While not as commercially successful as Blizzard Of Ozz or No More Tears in America, Diary Of A Madman is often regarded as the crowning achievement of Ozzy Osbourne's solo career by fans, and it's not hard to see or hear why.

For me, this is the second best Ozzy's album. I would save the first place for "No More Tears".

Yeah, No more tears is also a great album for me, but i would say this song had slightly better songwriting:P

Not quite a classic album, due to a couple of fillers, but there's certainly a few classic songs on this one. "Believer" and the title track are monsters!

I think "You Can't Kill Rock & Roll" is a filler track, but even with just seven songs this is Ozzy's best effort. Randy was in top form here.

Blizzard of Ozz was a magnificant debut. But i think this is my favourite Ozzy album. All my favourite Ozzy tracks are here, including "Over. the mountain", "Believer", "Diary of a Madman", and "Flying high again".

Damn, I forgot how brilliant this album was. Probably the only Ozzy solo album possibly other than Blizzard of Ozz that I love from front to back (though I love various songs here and there from the rest of his catalogue up to Ozzmosis really), this is one hell of a masterpiece.

Another quality album by Ozzy, I'm not quite as impressed by it than their debut though. This was also one of Randy's finest displays of guitar soloing.
"Over The Mountain", "Flaying High Again" and "Diary Of A Madman" are the three main stand out tracks for me, the rest of the album was still pretty decent.

Randy Rhoads is a Rock legend and make huge impact on guitar world in very short time, no doubt about it. Despite all of this, his last studio work always felt quite disappointing to me. There is good songs here, like: "Over The Mountain" and "S.A.T.O", title track and "Believer" is interesting too. "Flying High Again" is okay... Other stuff is just fillers. Performance is solid, production is average. 6/10 +1 for historical significance.

Lol no. No filler on here. This is definitely Ozzy’s best album, way better than the previous.

How exactly better than Blizzard Of Ozz? I'm really wont to know. About fillers - it's a matter of taste, if you really like "Little Dolls" and "Tonight" - good for you!

The album is carried by Crazy Train and Mr. Crowley. The other songs are fine but nothing to write home about. Couldn’t even pick one that stands out among them.

And yes I love Little Dolls. Favorite song on the album alongside the title track. Even the worst song SATO is better than most of the songs on Blizzard.

First album is carried by three biggest hits and live fan favorites of Ozzy's career (you skipped amazing "I Don't Know") and how many songs of this magnitude we have here?

"Suicide Solution" and "Revelation" is nothing to write home about? Really? Okay...

"S.A.T.O." it's a great song! My second favorite here after "Over The Mountain" with cool riff, memorable verse and great solo.

All fine songs, just unremarkable in comparison to stuff on here. I Don't Know is particular is radio-saturated for whenever the station wants to throw in a "deep cut" but still choose the more popular songs, it's mid honestly. I usually just skip it when playing the album and go right for Crazy Train.

I've hear songs from this album on the radio a lot more, the first three songs alone are played a lot on Sirius.

On par with the debut, maybe slightly weaker but it's marginal. Over the Mountain and Diary of a Madman are both stunning.. Believer is also worth mentioning.
