Alice Cooper - New Album Details

Welcome 2 My Nightmare, the highly anticipated new album of shock rock icon Alice Cooper will be released later this year through Universal Music Group.

Recorded with longtime collaborator Bob Ezrin - who produced the original multi-platinum Welcome To My Nightmare album in 1975 - the record picks up right where they left off, with Alice trapped in his own warped mind.

Explains Alice Cooper: "This is Alice's nightmare 35 years later. Bob and I created this character and we know how to write for him. I play the part but we're not writing for me, we're writing for Alice. We kept the first Nightmare album very personal to us, on this one we found more humor and we were more open. This was our world and we want to present it to the fans. The original album was my first solo album after all those huge hit records with the original band and now that nightmare is exposed, this one can be a little bit more open. The music crosses all sorts of boundaries; we went where the lyrics took us."

There is an array of collaborators on the new album, including original Alice Cooper members Denis Dunaway, Michael Bruce and Neal Smith reunited on three tracks; global pop superstar Ke$ha, who affectionately calls Alice "dad"; and legendary Alice and Lou Reed guitarist Steve Hunter, who is part of Alice's current touring band and featured prominently on the first Nightmare album.

Welcome 2 My Nightmare will be released first as a "fan pack" in conjunction with Future Publishing in September, with a conventional release following in October. The fan pack includes the album, a giant poster, a facepaint set, a metal badge, an Alice face mask and a 132-page magazine dedicated to all things Alice.

Welcome 2 My Nightmare Fan Pack tracklist:

Eldritch - Ink Deal With Scarlet Records

Italian prog metallers Eldritch have signed a worldwide deal with Scarlet Records for the release of their eight studio album, Gaia's Legacy - a concept album on global warming based on Al Gore's documentary An Inconvenient Truth. The album will see the light of the day in late September 2011.

Gaia's Legacy will see Eldritch going back to their technical progressive roots, with lots of influences raging from thrash to a modern approach still in the band's distinctive style. Frontman Terence Holler wrote all the lyrics after a deep search of information on every kind of source for the last 3 years.

The album was produced by Marco Ribecai and Eugenio Simone at Syncropain Products Studio in Pisa, Italy, and mastered by Göran Finnberg (Opeth, In Flames, Evergrey, Dark Tranquillity) in Sweden. Firewind's Bob Katsionis, a long-time fan of the band, is credited as special guest keyboardist on the song "Like A Child".

Hatesphere - New Album Details

The Great Bludgeoning, the new upcoming album of Danish death/thrash metal act Hatesphere will be released on September 21st in Spain, Finland and Sweden, on September 23rd in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux and Italy, on September 26th in the rest of Europe and on September 27th in the USA and Canada through Napalm Records.

The album is produced, mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Sick Of It All, Moonspell, Dark Tranquillity) at the Antfarm Studios in Aarhus, Denmark. Cover artwork is done by Mircea Gabriel Eftemie, who has previously worked with Soilwork, Strapping Young Lad and Mnemic (where he also swings the guitar)... and also did the cover for Hatesphere's Ballet of the Brute.

Comments the band: "We have aimed the new album in a more old-school direction than its predecessor. With people this experienced joining the band it has been a very relaxed and enjoyable process to write the songs, and we have all agreed on the concept. More metal and everything that follows.

The cover, the title and the lyrics speaks for themselves. We are an angry-sounding metal band, and we have no intention of denying that. That's why the cover is more back-to-the-roots and the lyrics are again about aggressions, drinking and hate. The things that HateSphere has always been about. Expect brutality, melody and groove in just the right dose.

We have had one hell of a time writing and recording it, and we cant wait to present the album to all of you before long! Within a month or so, we will have the first song snippet and video ready for you - so keep your eyes and ears open."

The Great Bludgeoning tracklist:

01. The Killer
02. Venom
03. Smell Of Death
04. Decayer
05. The Wail Of My Threnode
06. Resurrect With A Vengeance
07. The Great Bludgeoning
08. Need To Kill
09. Devil In Your Own Hell

Satyricon - South American Tour Announced

Norwegian black metallers Satyricon have scheduled a string of live dates in Mexico, South and Central America. The tour will take place in late October/early November. Get the list of dates after the jump.

In late 2009, Satyricon announced that it was planning to take a break following the completion of the group's most recent headlining European tour. Satyricon vocalist Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven later told Terrorizer.com that the band's December 20, 2009 concert in London, England would mark the beginning of a new phase in the group's evolution.

"From then on, there are going to be a lot of changes in the Satyricon camp," he said. "After we take a long touring break and come back a couple of years later, certain people may not be with us any longer. Although we won't be doing anything overly dramatic, we'll be trying quite a few different things, which I think is going to be really good for Satyricon. The reason we're doing that is so we can continue to develop our sound. At the moment we are still enjoying what we do, but if that continues any longer it'll undoubtedly stagnate, so we need to ensure that doesn't happen. And moving in different musical directions is definitely a good way to go about it."

Satyricon - Mexico/South/Central America Tour:

Oct. 28 - Mexico City, Mexico - Circo Volador
Oct. 29 - San Salvador, El Salvador - Jar Rock
Oct. 30 - San José, Costa Rica - Pepper's Club
Nov. 01 - Bogotá, Colombia - Teatro Metro
Nov. 03 - Santiago, Chile - TBA
Nov. 04 - Montevideo, Uruguay - La Trastienda Club
Nov. 05 - Buenos Aires, Argentina - Teatro Flores
Nov. 06 - São Paulo, Brazil - Hangar 110

Demon Hunter - Renews Deal With Solid State Records

Demon Hunter have renewed their partnership with Solid State Records and will enter the studio in late 2011 to record the new album for the label.

Each of the band's albums and other projects were released with Solid State Records. Both the band and label are proud to announce a deal that will see them continue to partner together.

"Solid State has always been an important part of Demon Hunter," said Demon Hunter singer, songwriter and co-founder Ryan Clark. "They helped market the band before we'd even started writing our first record and they continue to push the band further with each new album. From the very beginning, Solid State has allowed Demon Hunter to do things our own unique way and they've become a vital part of the band's existence. Re-signing was a no-brainer for us."

"I am elated to have the opportunity to continue to work with Demon Hunter," remarked Solid State/Tooth & Nail Records president and founder Brandon Ebel. "Demon Hunter is a core artist for the Solid State/Tooth & Nail family. Ryan Clark is an extraordinary songwriter, musician, artist and friend. We're looking forward to supporting Ryan and the Demon Hunter team on future projects and further developing the Demon Hunter brand worldwide."

"We're knee-deep in the writing process and the songs are sounding as intense as ever," Clark revealed. "We've always made an effort to stay true to our sound, but we like to push the boundaries of that blueprint with each release. These new songs have a lot of varying influences: from viking metal to classic thrash; grooving 90′s rock to stompy hardcore. Our goal, as it is with each record, is to blend these influences into one cohesive but unique Demon Hunter album."

Falkenbach - Sign With Prophecy Productions

Official press release

When talking about the origins of heathen Metal from Germany, one name invariably is mentioned: Falkenbach. Going for over twenty years, this project by Vratyas Vakyas is considered as a trailblazer and prime mover of a musical style that perfectly combines epic heroism and Germanic mythology, Norse-tinged folklore and metallic aggression - and all that far beyond the well-worn clichés of the so-called "Pagan Metal scene."

Steelwing - Enter The Studio

Official press release

The upcoming second Steelwing, yet untitled, album is scheduled for release in early 2012. It will take the post apocalyptic heavy metal onslaught into outer space with a full on tribute to cult 1980's science fiction movies.

Fans of the previous album will not be disappointed by the intense twin-guitar riffage, supersonic metal screams and furious double-kick action, but the band promise more diversity and dynamics as well. Some of the song titles set to appear on the album will be "Full Speed Ahead!" and "Solar Wind Riders", a couple of which have already been performed live this year to the approval of headbangers all over Europe.

Gloria Morti - Writing New Material

Finnish metallers Gloria Morti have issued the following update on their official website:

"The writing of the next Gloria Morti album has begun. We are currently keeping ourselves off the stages and concentrating fully on the writing process. Three songs have already been finished and more ideas are being made to flesh slowly but steadily. We are confident that we will be able to keep up the steady pace of writing and it won't take too long until we hit the studio for pre production. The current direction of the next album seems to be diverse yet aggressive. We are in this to make the best album you have heard from us, and not only that, we are shooting for an album that will take the band to the next level. We'll inform you about the progress."

New York Hardcore legends Biohazard just revealed a few details about the bands forthcoming, highly anticipated new album which is going to be entitled Reborn In Defiance.

A first song, "Reborn", can now be streamed at this location.

Commented guitarist Billy Graziadei: "When we got back together in 2008, we erased the last memory of Biohazard in people's heads and replaced it with a new kick-ass memory of what Biohazard was all about back in the day. People heard we used to fuck shit up, but being back together again as the original Biohazard gave us a chance to re-write history. Now we're doing it once again with a brand new album.
