At Vance - Upcoming Album News

German Power Metal band At Vance will release their upcoming new album "VII" on June 29th via AFM. "VII" was mastered at Finnvox by Miko Jussila and has the following tracklist:

01. Breaking The Night
02. Shiver
03. Cold As Ice
04. Victory
05. Friendly Fire
06. Golden Leaves
07. Answer Me
08. Shine
09. Truth
10. Lost In Your Love

A picture of the cover art can be found here. An official press release reads as follows: "The new At Vance "VII" will be released on June, 29. As the name already says, the band built around fabulous guitarist Olaf Lenk, already releasing its seventh album. So what's different then? Well, in truth not much, but did you really expect that a band who had established its own sound so strongly on the last six releases would break the mould and do away with its very own interpretation on neo-classical Power Metal that crosses elegantly with the true spirit of 80's Hard Rock? No! All they've done is to step ahead again. Listen to the dramatic groove snaking through "Shiver" or the ultra catchy "Cold As Ice" where the new At Vance singer Rick Altzi shows his brilliant range."

In other news, At Vance recently found a new vocalist. His name is Rick Altzi. You can visit Altzi's MySpace page at this location, and his personal website here.

The Excess Of Evil - European Tour Cancelled

The following statement was posted on Enslaved's website:

"European May Tour "Excess Of Evil" Tour Cancelled At Last Minute

Enslaved is issuing this statement to regretfully inform that the "Excess of Evil" European tour w/ Marduk, Enslaved, Keep Of Kalessin, Goatwhore, Melechesh & Pantheon I this month (May 2007) is cancelled.

We are not entirely informed and convinced as to why the tour is cancelled - we were promised an immediate statement from the touring agency (Metalysee) several days ago, but nothing has arrived. At this point, with few days left for the intended tour start, we could no longer wait and we are issuing this, to be honest, half-informed statement. We are normally booked through Goldstar Music in Norway, let us stress over and over again that this tour and its demise is not their workings, this was a one-off collaboration with another booking agency.

All we know is that the tour is cancelled and that we feel disappointed, bitter and at the same time vengeful. We are disappointed because we looked forward to performing top notch shows, being part of a high class package and meeting the fans, the friends; the scene. Bitter because we were already stretched to the limit to do this tour - we were ready to go out and do minimalist shows, with a session keyboard player (as Herbrand Larsen couldn't go due to personal reasons. We feel vengeful because we know we will come back and do these shows tenfold stronger. Our booking agent Goldstar has told us they are already working on rescheduling several of the shows this coming autumn.

As always, there will be speculations as to why this happened. Again, we regret to say that this was never really "our" tour so we lack some insight into the "whys" and "whos" and "whens". We can only state that we were ready to go, no injuries, no imprisonment, no primadonna acts; none of the usual industry clichés. We have heard rumours about why the tour was cancelled, but we choose not to repeat them until an official statement is issued from Metalysee/ Marduk. We hope other sources of information (web boards, forums, magazines) will remain equally patient/ respectful for the official version.

We'll be back with more info should it appear, along with any eventual re-bookings of these shows.

A heartfelt thank you to all the people being ready for the shows in France, the UK, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Italy, Germany and Austria- we will return."

Gorefest - New Album Details

The following update has been issued by guitarist Frank Harthoorn on Gorefest's official webpage:

"Exciting times in Gorefest-land. Tue Madsen's finished mixing some of our finest songs ever, and an excellent job he did. He managed to make everything sound even heavier than we'd imagined. Which is quite a feat, actually, because boy, our imaginations can be all over the place, I'll tell ya! Anyway, I guess it's pretty obvious we're quite pleased with the whole thing and, indeed, ourselves. Now, for some even more exciting details: the title of this Headbanger's Delight will be "Rise To Ruin". Nuclear Blast will be releasing it throughout Europe on august 3rd, with a UK release following 3 days later. I have no idea why, but there you go. Details on the US release date TBA. As with our previous CD La Muerte, "Rise To Ruin" will feature some wonderful artwork by british artist Rob 'Mid' Middleton.

Tracklist is as follows:

1. Revolt
2. Rise To Ruin
3. The War On Stupidity
4. A Question Of Terror
5. Babylon's Whores
6. Speak When Spoken To
7. A Grim Charade
8. Murder Brigade
9. The End Of It All

All this excitement will culminate in an undoubtedly quivering orgasm of aural glory at a listening session which will be held at Plein 79 in Den Bosch on wednesday, may 9th. Lots of very important press will be invited for this, so to make sure there's actually some people there, I'll put the first ten fans that drop me an email on request@gorefest.nl on the list as well. Drinks are on us!"
