The Answer - New Album, New Song, New Tour

Irish rockers The Answer will release their latest studio album in September 2011 via Spinefarm Records/Universal.

Titled Revival and produced by the Grammy-nominated Chris "Frenchie" Smith, with mixing handled by Chris Sheldon, this is the third studio album released by the Downpatrick quartet since first coming together a decade ago.

Vocalist Cormac Neeson comments: "The studio we used was on a ranch in the middle of a pecan orchard near El Paso, next to the Mexican border - a wonderful place for creating music, with that whole Wild West vibe, and 'Frenchie' was always encouraging us to dream that bit bigger and rock that bit harder. We had a lot of fun, and the experience was a positive one from start to finish..."

The first taste of new material from the new album can be found exclusively on the Sonisphere websitewhere you can download the brand new track "Piece By Piece" for free.

Continues Cormac: "The Answer are back, and our mission is to revive rock 'n' roll from the grassroots up! We had two great years playing in some of the biggest venues in the world, but this time around, on the first leg of our 'Revival' tour, we're going back to the sweaty, intimate venues where it all began. We've missed the intensity of being able to look our fans straight in the eye, and to have a beer with them after the show. We've got an entire album's worth of new material, and we're excited... bring it on!"

Wolf - Part Ways With Guitarist, Replacement Announced

After nine years and three albums guitarist Johannes "Axeman" Losbäck has parted ways with Swedish heavy metal band Wolf.

Axeman states: "It's with a heavy (Metal) heart that I announce that I'm stepping down from my duty's in the second best band in the world; Wolf. It was a very tough and difficult decision to make since I love Wolf & Heavy Metal but I simply can't give Wolf 666% at this point. It's not fair to the fans, the boys or me to not give it all and I need to step down. The downward spiral of the musicbizzniss which makes bands and musicians work harder & harder and trying to survive has taken its toll on me. I'd like to thank all, and I mean all fans for the ride of the past 9 years. I am a fan of yours so I love you all to death! Also thanx to Wolf members past & present for sharing the life and giving me the opportunity to express myself thru music. I am deeply proud and honored to have made music with you! I started my relationship with Wolf as a fan and now I get to end it as a fan. Thank you all, 666 times over & over. You will hear from me again! Oh...and Celtic Frost rules!"

Comments vocalists, guitarist and founder of the band Niklas Stålvind: "On behalf of the band I would like to thank Johannes for his work in Wolf and for the many great memories and laughs since his first appearance with the band in Wacken Open Air 2002. What Johannes Axeman doesn't know about Heavy Metal is not worth knowing. One episode that comes to mind is when we met legendary Thrash Metal band Hirax on a festival in Germany. Hirax's frontman Katon and Axeman started discussing Metal in general and numerous bands in particular. Katon, well known for his knowledge about every underground band in the scene soon gave up, proclaiming: 'This man is a fucking Metal encyclopaedia!'

Johannes is also a natural born entertainer, always in love with the audience. One of many, many stories I remember is when we played in Nottingham and there was a drunk punk rock girl standing front row, mocking us. I tried to ignore her, but she was kind of getting on my nerves anyway. All of a sudden came Axeman with his axe in one hand and a beer in the other. The very surprised looking punk girl got the beer, and the rest of the show she was head-banging insanely with a smile on her face. He turned a punk into a Metal head with a beer.
Axeman is probably so Metal he is even contagious. Wolf wish Johannes Axeman, the Metallest man in the world, the very best in the future! May you never rust. HAIL!"

Sorrowful Angels - Part Ways With Guitarist

Original guitarist Dariusz Sipiora have parted ways with Greek gothic metal band Sorrowful Angels.

The band tried to explain as follows: "Our dear friend and music companion, Dariusz Sipiora (rhythm guitars) stated in his FB status just before our show in Athens on the 18th of June: "Everything is already in black and white: I leave Greece on Sunday and Monday I start a new life in Holland.. m / will be the only thing I missed from Greece, this is my band Sorrowful Angels and my friends but I hope I can do everything!"

Working contitions are hard here in Greece right now and we strongly support Dariusz's decision for a better future for him and his family! Although things are a bit vague whether he will be able to continue as a full member in the band, there will be a replacement member for gigging purposes announced soon. If this change will be permanent or not, we believe it's still too soon to tell.

The only thing that is certain, is that Sorrowful Angels, will continue in full force alive and gigging as planned and that the new record will be released in September!"

Aborym - Sign With Agonia Records

Italian industrial post-black metal band Aborym have inked a worlwide deal with Agonia Records.

The first statements of the singer/bass player Fabban: "I know this label very well. We decided to sing up with Agonia Rec exactly because we need to be followed and supported in a more careful and precise way, something that is sometimes quite hard to have if you're part of a major label with hundreds of other bands. There's a crisis in the air, especially in the music industry, reason why we're betting everything on quality. What we will release in 2012 will be a very particular album and it will be required a great commitment from our label, a great commitment, not only from the economic point of view. We chose Agonia because is able to give us everything we ask for in order to achieve something very very important, something that people don't really expect. This is the biggest deal of the entire Aborym's career. We have a very high budget, we have confidence and a massive deployment of energies and resources from Agonia's side. Through these premises we should and we must do only great things."

The sixth Aborym's album will be released in 2012 and it will celebrate the 20th anniversary of activity of the Italian combo.

"We'll celebrate 20 years of Aborym through a series of surprises for our fans," adds founding member/singer Fabban. "The album we're working on will be something extremely astonishing, something that nobody can even remotely imagine. Aborym has always been like that, but this time we'll walk beyond the lines. Our new album will be also a reward to all our fans: our own way to say thank you for 20 years of support and passion for our music.

Adds guitarist Hell.IO.Kabbalus: "It's great to be working again with Agonia Records. And we're already sticking down with Fabban some new material for the next album. If you think Psychogrotesque was crazy, this next one is going to fuck your synapses from behind."

Dark Funeral - New Vocalist Announced

Swedish black metal band Dark Funeral are proud to introduce Steve "Nachtgarm" Marbs as the new vocalist of the band.

Dark Funeral guitarist Lord Ahriman had the following to say: "I must admit that it surely was not an easy task to find a worthy replacement for Emperor Magus Caligula, who has been doing an amazing job for Dark Funeral during the past 15 years. He has not only been "the vocalist" for the band, but also a very good friend of mine and he always will be!

Anyway, 10 months of intense search worldwide have finally given result. And I'm very proud to announce and welcome Steve "Nachtgarm" Marbs (Negator) to the horde.

I think, I can speak for everyone in the band and say that besides completely knocking us down with the strength of his vocals and wide register, what truly blew us away was his presence, energy and the amazing spirit he showed during the final audition. He just came into the rehearsal room, found and took his rightful spot. And then just set the whole place on hellfire!

It's really hard to explain "that" certain feeling one is looking for, but once you get it, you just know that you've found the right man for the job. And that is something we all got "deluxe". No doubt about that! Mankind has no idea what is coming upon them. And I can't wait to bring this maniac on tour for the world to experience Dark Funeral in the most intense and hellish way ever!

During the 10 month we have been looking for a new vocalist and drummer, we have received over 1000 applications. The interest to join Dark Funeral has been way over expectation and quite overwhelming to say the least. And I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who applied for the jobs. One thing is for sure: There are a lot of unknown talents out there. And once they've found the right band to deliver their goods, I'm sure we all will hear from many of these guys in the future."

Guitarist Chaq Mol adds: "When E.M. Caligula quit the band my first thought was "how the fuck will we be able to find a worthy replacement now?". In my eyes he was the best vocalist in the Black Metal scene. Anyhow, after we had listened through a couple of hundreds applicants, there were two guys that really stood out and sounded very promising indeed. The question now was, would they nail it on a live audition too, and would their personalities be of that kind we were looking for?! Well, after 10 month search we finally found the right man for the job! And all my previous doubts and concerns are now a memory forgotten. Nachtgarm, welcome to the horde!"

Ryan has been assisting us with demo sessions since the last album and it felt very natural for us to try the final product with him.

"We then went to Studio Fredman located in Gothenburg Sweden for the mix and master. Machinery - Calls It Quits

Swedish metallers Machinery have called it quit.

Guitarist/vocalist Michel Isberg states:

Hi Everyone!

"I got some sad news for ya but the time has come that Machinery will be no more! We've reached to a point where we asked ourselves is it all worth it? And there are many reasons why we've reached for this conclusion! Some of them are too long and boring to even try to explain and some others that are beyond our control!

"However, we will form a new band, that doesn't have a label attached to itself, a history or a name yet. All in all we feel quite good on the situation and look forward to create new music again! At this moment nothing is decided yet but stay tuned during this summer for the announcement of our new endeavours!"

MOSH on folks!
/Michel
