All the other ideas they mentioned would have been better themes IMO

Agreed... but regarding the American Civil War, no way in hell they'd touch that topic at the height of cancel culture and political correctness in this country. Americans would completely lack the intellectual ability to comprehend how Sabaton could - for example - a track from the perspective of the south without it meaning they literally support slavery and the confederates. Next thing you know you'd have Twitter trying to cancel their gigs, etc. Sounds like I'm exaggerating, but sadly, I'm not. Shame, too, because it'd be a very fun theme.

I'll bet it will sound something like this:
"THE GREAT WAAAHHHHR
*DUH DUH DUH - DUH DUH DUH*
THE GREAT WAHR
*DUH DUH DUH - DUH DUH DUH*
BULLETS FLYING, NEVER DYING, THE GREAT WAHR
*DUH DUH DUH - DUH DUH DUH*
MISSILES DIVING, COURAGE THRIVING, THE GREAT WAHR
THE GREAT WAAAHHHHR"

I saw "The Great War" live in open-air amphitheater with 20 ppl choir and I definitely not mind hearing another song like that
But you're right, their songs sound more and more the same.

I can't decide if Sabaton or Powerwolf takes the prize as the most boring band out there with 2 ideas stretched over way too many albums?

I'm just here to provide a shred of optimism in the comments section on behalf of our editor-in-chief, and to remind everyone whose opinion runs counter to his regarding the greatest band in the history of metal that they will be shadowbanned permanently from the site and from the internet in general.

I vaguely remember them getting shit for this one:

Yeah, nuance is completely lost on the professionally offended. An entire album about the Civil War in Sabaton's style would inevitably have songs that appear to be commending the bravery of certain southern soldiers, general, etc. - or, at the very least, tell things from their point of view. And it would become a complete shitstorm once the wrong people became aware.
