Forbidden guitarist Craig Locicero confirmed in a post on his Facebook page that the band has been working on new material for their long-awaited sixth studio album, but stated that fans will have to wait until early 2025 for its release. The new album by the recently-reunited legendary Bay Area thrash metal band will be their first since 2010's Omega Wave and the first one with new vocalist Norman Skinner, who is the replacement of the now-retired Russ Anderson.

Locicero wrote: "Forbidden is back and strong. I did not see this coming a year ago today. Nope. No way. Not without Russ. We were all in different stages of moving on with our lives. I had Dress the Dead & Boneless Ones going and I was content with my little corner of passionate projects. I love those bands. Destiny had other plans for me. Somehow, some way, through a myriad of happenstances… it all came full circle. Sure, there needed to be some changes and deviations from the original lineup. You all know that by know. Still, the amount of positivity and good breaks we're is not lost on me. It's a downright miracle! Having Tim Healy by my side through this process is key. He's guided me through dramas and wins. Steadily being a great friend with loyalty in intent like I've never had before. Nobody has ever had my back more in this business than Tim. If he wasn't here behind the scenes, everything likely would have crumbled away. This goes alongside of choosing the right people to invest our goals together. People often don't understand how delicate a working band is & in their minds eye everything should stay how they remember it. That is unrealistic. You put two good people together that don't see eye to eye, and everything could implode. Put five people together with one of them not having the same goals and it could poison the barrel. This is the chemistry of musical partnerships. Matt, Steve, Chris & Norman are the right fit. We all support one another. We've all won & lost so much. We keep each other honest and in check. Right place, right time. Right combination. These guys are all supremely talented and have their hearts in the right places to make this work. Great chemistry. 2023 has already brought us amazing results with another festival in Mexico next week and 2 sold out shows with our brothers Death Angel coming up around Christmas. 2024 is all about festivals around the world and writing new Forbidden music for the first time in over a decade. We also have amazing allies behind the scenes that have been there for us and will continue to help build this reborn juggback from the ground up. I am inspired by everything. The good being what I covered here and the bad. The bad being the state of our world. If you thought I had great subject matter to pull from when we were writing Omega Wave, you ain't seen nothing yet. What a shit show. Perfect fodder for a Forbidden record release in early 2025. Yes, it takes that long to write, record& release when we're juggling it with shows."
