Damn! i just found out that R'Vannith made a similar list some time ago, now this just looks like a bad copy
Well, to keep it unique, this list will only be about intergalactic sounds, not lyrical content.

Kudos for the Artcturus, Nocte Obducta, and Progenie Terrestre Pura... prob my favorites on this list. You should definitely include Oranssi Pazuzu on here I think, some really top-notch psychedelic black metal, particularly Kosmonument. Also, even though they're not on Metal Storm (no clue why), Fullmoon Bongzai can fuck you pretty hard with their formula as well.... strange blend of psychedelic, industrial, and a few black metal elements too. Noisense: A Voodoo Beach Party, nuff said.

Well, Oranssi Pazuzu sounds awesome, I'll add this.
I'm always happy to explore bands that are not even listed on ms, and you're right, Fullmoon Bongzai is some crazy shit. It doesn't really fit my taste, but it is indeed spacey

Quite a nice idea here and I love space atmopsheres. Since you have AtomA, you can try Enshine and Fractal Gates.

Okay, looked at this list before but now you got my . Why? Because those last 5 additions are all great and definitely improve this list. Next to those, Ayreon, Ixion, Progrenie Terrestre Pura are all excellent too, though I'm still unfamiliar with a lot of other albums on here.
I'll come back soon with some suggestions, don't worry. (and of course check my lists if you're interested, since it seems there are some bands we're both a fan of )

Don't worry about that. The lists are different enough so far if you ask me. And I agree it's better to ignore the lyrical content since those can't easily be heard anyway in a lot of subgenres (black and death metal mainly). While R'Vannith's list is great, I don't like it that he doesn't limit the amount of albums per band to a (let's say) 2 or 3 (and of course The Human Equation, which doesn't fit the list in my opinion... had a discussion with him about that ). I would also suggest listing everything alphabetically, because it simply looks better.

I saw your debut album list before and really liked it, a great idea! I already thought about listing this alphabetically, but didn't have the time yet. My first intention was to list this from best to worst, but that would make it far more subjective and wouldn't give albums i don't like the credit they deserve for having nice space atmospheres.

I have a couple of suggestions for you:
Overdream - Navigator - Symphonic Metal: Not completely sci-fi/space themed, but has a nice spacey atmosphere.
Blood Stain Child - Epsilon - Electro Metal

Overdream sounds nice, i'll add them; but i slightly disagree with adding Blood Stain Child. Their music sounds futuristic, but i don't really feel the space there.
Anyway, thanks for your comment, i appreciate it!

Thanks! Be sure to give me some (in your opinion) essential debut albums. It could take months, but eventually I check pretty much everything out. And yes, now that this list is alphabetically it immediately looks better in my opinion. Best to worst lists are a good idea sometimes, but in this case it's fine how it is now.

Your list already has quite a few albums I haven't heard, particularly of the black metal variety. Generally I've found most of the artists that have these kind of sounds have lyrical themes which are either loosely related to sci-fi/space to give the atmosphere a bit more depth and relevance, if you pay attention to that aspect of course. But as EMols hinted at it isn't really essential to having a "spacey" sounding album.
Slough Feg are a favourite example of mine that have the lyrical aspect without the spacey atmosphere, or at least the same kind of atmosphere as those of the albums you're listing here. You can get bands who like to have these lyrical themes that only use partial atmospheric elements in their music which might be described as "spacey" or not at all. Then there's instrumental stuff, no lyrics there of course and can only relate in the name of the album or track titles or the music itself.
It's also a broad idea really, space atmosphere, likely to bring in a variety of interpretations.

Cybion by Kalisia anyone? masterpiece of 2009...
and if one seeks something really mindblowing...
Nǽnøĉÿbb?rğ VbëřřĦōlökäävsŦ thats some crazy shit! although the "Stars: A Comparative Study Of Astroillumination And Four Dimensional Spacetime" EP shows some very rare creativity
i'm not sure if i should add that

One thing that I recently found is Etoile Filante. Pretty nice atmospheric black metal with symphonic elements and some ambient influences as well. The drums get really annoying, and the production in general doesn't really sound right, but good stuff nonetheless.

Thanks to this list I found out a couple of albums (and bands) for my own list ( http://www.metalstorm.net/users/list.php?list_id=3154), so thanks. I'm talking about Alrakis, Astral Silence, Cold Body Radiation and Ewigkeit, but I already had Lurker of Chalice, Midnight Odyssey, Spectral Lore and Sun of the Blind on my list before checking your list for more one-man bands. It's obvious that when it comes to space metal it's often atmospheric/ambient black metal and those are often one-man bands (or the other way around).

Maybe The Faceless would fit here, I know their second album has lots of Sci-fi space themes.

You should listen to this
Atmo\Depressive Space BM
----
Stab me with hate
Enforce my fate
Pain's my belonging
To death I am longing
The death I desire
The dead I admire
See no more illusion
Just thy persecution
So finish your work
Stab me with fork
Torture with knife
End useless life
Slit all my wrists
