Emperor and Opeth may not be too compelling at first. I think Emperor is particularly difficult to get into because I feel like In the Nightside Eclipse operates on such immense darkness levels that, honestly, when i first listened to that album, I couldn't get to the end. Anything past Into the Infinity of Thoughts was initially too much.
Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk are very unique, and I think the early songs being so furiously fast and sharp-sounding can be distracting and maybe even a bit of a headache. But it's become one of my favorite albums over the course of dozens of listens. I think it's its melancholy that captures my attention.
Opeth are one of a kind, and the length of their songs can shatter any new listener's attention span. I believe it's the atmosphere, the jazz harmonies and the acoustic tracks (such as Epilogue and Credence on "My Arms, Your Hearse") together with the contrast between the death growls and clean vocals that ultimately seal the deal for me.
And yes, Crimson is one of my all-time favourites, but the issue here is that I labelled the list improperly - it shouldn't say "all-time favourites", it's more like current jams - which I indicated in private messages earlier and the description above - so I'm gonna change the title if that's even possible. If not, I'll add Crimson to the list.

So imminently visible - this cloaked innocent guilt
Sentenced to a lifetime, a second of structured chaos
Trampled by the ferocious, raging crowds of solitude
I'm the soil beneath me soaking up the sustenance of my own death.
