While never quite reaching the same heights as Emperor or Dimmu Borgir, I always thought this album belonged in that same tier of discussion. It has a lot of bite and aggression for a symphonic album, and it's really well written considering how the balance of extremity and accessibility flows so seamlessly within each song. It's an overseen beauty of an album that likely failed to generate much hype due to either marketing issues or simply because you can't really pick any songs to advertise as singles with a release like this.
