Coroner is one of those Thrash Metal bands that got disbanded in the early nineties as a result of the overall decline in the scene. However this similarity with other bands of the genre is probably the only one because no one played like Coroner. Of course, there were other bands labeled as Technical Thrash, but not one of them was as cool as them, especially concerning the technical side itself. When this trio play, nothing is static; the music flows with so many changes that it's impossible to get bored.

Classic album for it's time, and perhaps a shining example of Coroner's forward-thinking creativity.

"I Want You (She's So Heavy)" is the best cover song I ever heard ... obsessively hypnotic, brilliant arrangement

I find this rather lame when compared to their three earlier albums, almost mediocre.
Son of Lilith slightly standing out, Pale sister also memorable. The rest... just doesnt reach me I guess.

Metal Rasputin
On Mental Vortex Coroner simplified their style a little, but it's still nearly as good as the previous one, although after the riff tsunami of No More Color this might feel a bit tame at first, but trust me: it WILL eventually blow you away once you really get into it. Also, this time they actually fixed the production.

First time listening to this yesterday.

Got to start off by mentioning the absolutely flawless production. This album sounds perfect. I really like the technical approach in most songs, but find it meandering occasionally. The Beatles cover isn't very good either but that's due to the poor vocals and mundane childish lyrics. Overall it's an interesting listen and I haven't really heard anything similar.

I wasn't a fan of this album when I first heard it, but relistening I can see why people like it. (Apart from the Beatles cover though, that is godawful, and I like The Beatles )

I agree. Nice riffs throughout, but only memorable songs are Son of Lilith, Pale Sister, and Semtex Revolution

I guess I agree with you, both on the best songs (Semtex Revolution ) and that No More Color is indeed the best of the (awesome) bunch

I just to hold this album in pretty high regard, and now it's not having the same result on me anymore. Son Of Lilith, Semtex and About Life stand out somewhat but overall I feel a bit uninpressed with a few of the songs.
