Peter Baltes, born April 4, 1958 is a German musician. In the past 26 years, Peter has made 14 albums with his heavy metal group Accept, selling 30 million records to fans around the world. Peter's music helped forge a new heavy metal musical style during the 70's, 80's and 90's that became part of mainstream popular culture, and which made ACCEPT one of the biggest worldwide stars in that genre. 8 years after the band's separation, a search on Google still reveals the band's fan page as the number one link for the word "accept". A quick browse of record indexes list ACCEPT's inclusion on more than 50 albums, and dedications from millions of fans around the world define ACCEPT as one of the most historically significant and loved metal bands of the past 30 years. Peter has also played bass on Dokken's "Breaking the Chains" album (1983) and on Don Dokken's solo album "Up From The Ashes" (in 1990). Other credits include: Recorded background vocals on the Scorpions "Savage Amusement" album. Played the 1984 Monsters of Rock festival world tour. Toured with Van Halen, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Ozzy Ozbourne, Ted Nugent, Elton John, KISS, Cheap Trick, ZZ Top, and many many more. Played on John Norums (Guitar Player in Swedish Band EUROPE )) albums "Face The Truth", "Worlds Away", and more. Voted ..1 bass player in Burn Magazine reader's poll 1985 Voted best bass player in Europe, Metal Hammer magazine 1985. Studio performances with Simon Wright (AC/DC), Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa, Missing Persons, Steve Vai, etc.), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Gary Moore, and many more. Peter currently lives in Newtown, Pennsylvania with his wife and two sons, where he is actively involved with the Christian Life Center. Besides working in Music Production for Radio & TV he continues to compose and perform regularly and stays involved with teaching at the RockFactory.
